Does the day of Christ ressurection tell us to worship on Sunday?

Hello All, I have just read through the above posts and see the various disagreements.
Can I just say that I am concerned with ' BIBLICAL ' beliefs and not worldly /human changes that are being made to days and dates. Scripturally Saturday has always been the 7th day Sabbath and sunday the first day of the week. If people want to believe otherwise they have in the past 2000 years been allowed to believe so.
MAN always has messed with the Word of God and just because God has allowed it (for a period of time Ex.20v9) does not mean that man is right. This period will now very shortly come to an end and GOD will seriously reign in the coming 'millennial sabbath'.
We have had 6000 years of human rule which will end in prophecied untold tribulations to show man how wrong he is/has been. Error upon error can not end in love, peace and harmony. Do we not pray for GOD's WILL to be done on earth ??? or man's ???

It doesn't matter which sabbath a person keeps, learn to read Paul sometime. Sunday is not the sabbath, it's the Lord's Day, and is based on Christian tradition as early as the first century. Acts says Paul broke bread with the brethren on the first day of the week. Christians know Sunday is not the sabbath, it doesn't matter. The son of man (son of man=us/people) is Lord, even of the sabbath.

The point is, traditional Christians KNOW Sunday isn't the sabbath. It's not a matter of trying to change the sabbath. Christians worship on Sunday, because it's a tradition called the Lord's Day (the day Jesus supposedly rose).
Non-sense...

John, chapter 20. It tells that "on the first day of the week" Jesus was resurrected. Now, IF you take Easter to be on a Sunday, and according to John the resurrection happened on the first day of the week, then Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the last day of the week. Now, I know there are some who observe an Easter Monday which would place Sunday as the last day of the week. I can't for sure say which is absolutely correct, but it does point out the inconsistencies of those who celebrate Easter on Sunday and yet observe the Sabbath on Sundays. It cannot be both.

At least in Canada, Easter Monday isn't about worship; it's about giving people the day off work. Normally, if a statutory holiday falls on a weekend, we get the Friday or Monday off. Similar idea here.

In Europe as elsewhere, the first day of the week is Sunday. So I disagree with you there Kathryn.

Also the Bible says that God created the world in six days and on the seventh He rested, with the Qur'an having a variant of that. Nowhere do they (Bible and Qur'an) state however, which was the first day he started on and which was the seventh! He could've started on a Wed for all we know (that is if such a designation were to have existed at that point). We must remember that time is, for all intents and purposes, a man-made concept/constraint because we cannot truly comprehend the infinite.

You make one mistake, the Creator shows us what day is the seventh day as Christ was clear on what day it was, as He is Lord of the Sabbath and He didnt change it. Jesus was concerned about the Sabbath forty years after His death and resurrection.

Matthew 24:20 "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

Gods holy day, which he created and commands of the seventh day is confirmed, instead of the first. The understanding is laid out in other ways for anyone who wants to see and hear....

1) "The seventh day is the Sabbath." Ex. 20:10

2) Jesus Christ knew: Jesus "went into the synagogue on the sabbath day." Luke 4:16.

3) Ask any Jew: Jews have been keeping the same Sabbath from sundown Friday night to sundown Saturday night for over 3000 years.

4) The Calendar: The calendar changed once, in 1582, from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. Thursday, October 4, was followed by Friday, October 15. This change did not affect the weekly sequence. Most calendars still show Saturday as the seventh day.

5) 105 Languages: In over 100 languages the name for the day that we call “Saturday” is "the Sabbath." For example,“Saturday” in the Spanish language is "Sabado," which means “the Sabbath.” In Italian, it is "Sabbato," which also means “the Sabbath.” In Russian it is, "Subbota." In Polish, "Sobota,” etc. Interestingly enough, in Ghana the day for Sunday, literally translated, means “White man changed this day!”

6) Webster's Dictionary: "Saturday: the 7th day of the week." "Sunday: the first day of the week."

7) The World Book Encyclopedia: "Sabbath ... It comes on Saturday, the seventh day of the week."

8) The biblical sequence of the crucifixion weekend: Jesus died on a day we call "Good Friday," which was the day before the Sabbath. See Luke 23:46, 54. When the sun went down, the woman rested on "the Sabbath day according to the commandment." Luke 23:56. Jesus rose on Sunday, "the first day of the week." Luke 24:1, 6.

Would God say, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy," if it was impossible to discover which day we should remember?

No where in the bible did it switch the sabbath from friday sunset to saturday sunset.

The fourth commandment is to remember the Sabbath day. to keep it holy. Jesus Himself said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments." We cant hold all the 10 commandments to be true, yet leave out one.

Some of us agree with you but christianity as a whole does not . They either leave out the 4th or say that all are abolished or that any day in 7 will do. They generally quote Rom.14 as proof and indeed Paul would seem to give the impression that almost everything is permissable.
In truth he does not say that or make any changes - he is simply stating that THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE DO.
NO man has authority to change what God makes Holy (as he did the sabbath) but people mis-understand because it suits their own way of believing and doing things which is a natural human reaction. Without the indwelling HS people can only act according to their own understanding not realizing they are in error Prov.3v5. Not knowing and obeying God's Word keeps man 'natural' which is 'anti-God' Rom.8v7.
God has given man free choice to do his own thing and that is what we see in the world, everyone pleasing himself. This period WILL SOON come to an end as Christ takes up His Millennial Sabbath Rule at his return. But up until then everything is going according to how and what God allows - even wrongdoing. It's all for a reason. :)

Amen to that! And when Paul says that we arent to judge one according to the keeping of the sabbath that was a foreshadow of THINGS TO COME, it was speaking of the sabbaths such as the Feast of the Tabernacles (i believe there are 7 different types of those aside from the Sabbath of rest). For those sabbaths were kept until the coming of the Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus Christ.

But the sabbath that was set since the beginning of time was never changed. God Himself blesses and hallowed it! A day of rest. i will not argue with that! LOL

Yes there are other Sabbaths besides the weekly ones. God has his own Feast Days called High Days or Sabbaths which occur throughout the year and traditional christianity has no understanding of seeing they cut themselves off from them at the council of Nicea in 325 AD.and the church at Rome and Constantinople implanted itself with their own observances.
But scripture further tells in Lev.23 that the Sabbath (which had previously been a day of rest) was then up-graded to a day of holy assembly and worship. God starts everything very simple, gradual and easy to understand and follow because of our human weaknesses and limitations. We have to GROW INTO understanding not be suddenly confronted with it. That is how I see God working in us

Must say you are an exception I don't often meet.
Many people hate and dislike what I say but I understand where they are coming from. Christianity sadly has been led up the wrong path by very impressive/charismatic teachers and preachers and if it were not for their time shortly coming to an end even my message of Hope would be lost. But some few are already being turned and our mighty God be thanked !
