Donald Trump For Nobel Peace Prize 2018!

It seems Trump played an instrumental role in bringing North Korea to the negotiation table since the cease fire took effect.

What instrumental role? NK wanted to be represented at the Olympics. NK played nice with SK to accomplished that.

For the record...
There will be no summit between Kim and Trump.

At the conclusion of the day-long summit between North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in Friday, one thing was clear: the meeting would never have taken place if not for President Trump. And for this achievement, President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

All of which was squandered by moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem for purely political reasons, resulting in 60 dead after protests. So much for peace.

You mean to say that have military exercises near the border was not a good idea if one wanted a peace prize? Is Trump just a ham fisted idiot or did he realize that North Korea would take him for he same ride that they took Bush and Obama on?
Personally I go for the former.

That would be Kimmy's decision. I suspect he isn't all too serious about abandoning his nuclear ambitions to begin with.
Rather like Iran.
They are the other two nations on George W Bush's "Axis of Evil" hit list.

And they saw what happened to Saddam Hussein. If course they want nukes.
Then they could be friends of the USA, like Israel and Pakistan.

After North Korea triumph Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, not Obama

FOXNEWS

At the conclusion of the day-long summit between North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in Friday, one thing was clear: the meeting would never have taken place if not for President Trump. And for this achievement, President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

It’s true that we won’t really know for weeks or months whether the North-South Korean summit will bring about better relations between the two Koreas and result in Kim getting rid of his small arsenal of nuclear weapons.

We shouldn’t naively believe any promises Kim makes without verifiable proof, because he has a history of lying. His promises may last as long as a snowman in August.

But President Trump’s tough stance against a nuclear North Korea and his success in winning approval of international economic sanctions against the North at the United Nations that have crippled the country’s economy clearly succeeded beyond expectations in pushing Kim to the negotiating table.

And President Trump’s willingness to hold an unprecedented summit with Kim in coming weeks gave the dictator the incentive to recently announce he was halting nuclear weapons testing, closing an underground test site, and ending tests of long-range missiles.

In 2009, President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for… um … for ... well, for giving good speeches and having big plans for making the world a more peaceful place.

CNN

(CNN)Any way you cut it, President Donald Trump is entitled to significant credit for Friday's historic opening between the two Koreas.

Whether he deserves as much as he's claiming or whether he's wise to bullishly declare a new era of denuclearized peace on the peninsula seems much more doubtful.

Still, the summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in keeps alive the possibility of a legacy win for Trump that would rank as one of the top presidential achievements since World War II.

I do not see why anybody who supports the NRA (a lobbyist for gun manufacturers) should get a peace prize

For us oldsters, unused to speaking in acronym.
What is HFI? I don't want Google to know that I know of it's existence.

If bragging that you have a bigger nuclear button deserves a peace prize there is little hope for humanity.

True, Trump could torpedo the summit with his asinine tweets.
So why has N K started dismantling their nuclear test site if they were only interested in the Olympics, which have come and gone????

I heard an interesting analysis on the radio on the way home. North Korea is probably more worried about China than the U.S.. NK will never get rid of its nukes because he needs to be able to keep China at bay even more than the U.S.. We are not real threat to them. China, directly north of them is a threat.
