The summit is canceled ha!
So you prefer to let North Korea go on with their nuclear weapons program, ballistic missile program, massive human rights violations, and whatever the Hermit Kingdom does to threaten world peace. Gotcha it.

Not directly but your statement implied that you was glad to see the President walk away from the meeting.
No that may not be what you wanted to say, but to me that is the gist of your statement.

I've been quarreling constantly with a friend over this. He says Trump is going to fix it and I disagreed, to put it mildly. Reading the headline on the BBC is got a sweet surge of validation and snickered to myself. But this is foolish. Anyone else feeling smug should consider that even if you despise Trump this is one of the few places he could have done something good for everyone.

NK is not a threat to the United States. Stop being so paranoid.

NK Can't even get their missiles to hit Japan. In reality NK is China's little brother who's always talking smack, but you know he's full of **** so you ignored him with chuckle.

LIke the President even had the tact of decency to pull off a diplomatic situation like this. Threats only get you so far.

So NK threatening SK, Japan and other countries is fine so long as he doesn’t directly threaten the U.S.?

I guess you never heard that North Korea threatened Guam. Next target Guam, North Korea says - CNN

Guam is part the U.S. in case you didn’t know.
NK is not a threat. They are all talk, no action. Once again, stop being so paranoid and fearing the worst. NK has been doing these things for decades. We don't need any more wars from republicans.

Hey, schadenfreude. Mea culpa. Still gunna say "I told you so", though.

Just wait for the inevitable twitstorm: "Failing Nobel Prize ceremony has lowest ratings ever! Sad!"

"North Korea deliberately stopped peace process to block my peace prize! Which I won the popular vote for! Unfair"

"Moving American embassy from Stockholm to Oslo!! And Sweden is going to pay for it!"

So, what happened June 25, 1950?

Nothing threatening America. Nothing that wasn't completely backed by the Chinese, either.
Somehow I feel that you do not have a complete understanding of what could have happened. Do you not realize that in the summer of 1950 the us of nuclear weapons in Korea was considered and if that happened it could have escalated. Suggest if you desire to discuss military and geopolitical history that it would behoove one to study it.
The following is just a very very short synopses of what could have happened.

Um... it almost went nuclear because the US almost used nukes, not because the US was threatened. Either way, it's not comparable to the current situation because any unilateral military action by DPRK won't be materially or politically supported by China.
