Don't Have Children? Vance Says You're Scum

Vance is pro-family. Vance was brought up in a broken home, with a mother who had a substance abuse problem. His grandmother had to provide extra care for him. Now as an adult of means and wants, he wishes to create the perfect family for his wife and children, like he never had. Vance was targeting pro-family demographic; birds of a feather, and created a contrast with the radical left with a little wit and humor.
My experience with a parent's alcohol abuse issue, and what my sibling became when he toyed with it, is me very averse to having a family. But vance can go do what he wants. I have some right wing views on different issues, and left wing views. But one thing is, that I think there probably should be a lot more birth control. And not because to promote some kind of hedonist freedom, I favor monogamy, but because it kinda helps if all of our reproduction is a little more planned out. It can help society as a whole be better, I think

I won't be able to prove this, but I think that when the left wants to curtail some freedoms, it is out of concern for the safety of others. You have to drive according to the rules, you mustn't yell fire in a crowded theatre, you should wear a mask during a pandemic, especially when around the vulnerable. On the other hand, they are comfortable with people loving who they love, and marrying them if they want. They are comfortable with a woman wanting control of her own body and healthcare.
That's kind of a start to a theory that makes sense about who they are. I think maybe the other side of the coin, and this is a generalization, is that the right, at its best, wants to give you freedoms that teach some level of individual resilience

And how would you say that works? Taking away the right of a gay/lesbian couple who love one another to marry provides what sort of "individual resiliance" that a straight couples don't need, exactly? Criminalizing cannabis while sipping on a nice dry martini does what to teach "resiliance?"

I guess my conception of left / right is a little different. I think of it more like more government vs. less. That dichotomy makes more sense. I think the left / right of popular view are surely just two different versions of leftism (they both want more government regulation just different kinds)

Don't youns know the VP choice makes no difference?

"Historically, the choice of a vice president makes no difference," Trump said. "You're voting for the president."

Ehhh.. unless the president goes away for whatever reason. Keep in mind that Trump is 2 years older than the national average for life expectancy in the US right now

Yes Trump is. Considering that its a good thing Biden dropped out, he is roughly 5 years older than the national average for life expectancy.

"In 2020, the life expectancy for an 80-year-old man in the United States was 9.6 years. This is an increase from 7.27 years in 1975, with an average annual growth rate of 3.17%. In high-income countries, the life expectancy for an 80-year-old can range from 8 to 10 years."

Having made it to 80, the general average is not really relevant any more.

Excerpted snippets from the many....
In August 2021, one month after launching his candidacy for the Senate, Vance’s campaign sent fundraising emails referring to the “radical childless leaders in this country” following his appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” where he made comments deriding “childless cat ladies” and leaders running the country. The comments sparked a widespread backlash against Vance when they resurfaced on social media following his nomination to the Republican presidential ticket.
In September 2021, Vance tweeted that “cat ladies…must be stopped” in response to a report that a higher percentage of Americans fear having children because of climate change. In another tweet a month later, Vance wrote, “Our country’s low birth rates have made many elites sociopaths.”
Did George Washington have children ( father of our country does Not count )
Which presidents had No children, did that make their wives as scum _________

What it is NOT, however, is anything to do with "liberty." I find that somewhat odd, coming from the party that hollers "freedom" from every pulpit and soapbox.
MAGA are liars and hypocrites. The also claim to be pro-America, pro- law and order, pro-police, pro-military and more, but they're none of those things
You'd hate any Republican.
Most that I've heard speak, but it's not because they're Republican It's because they're MAGA.

I admire Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, for example. I consider them patriots and heroes.

Eisenhower was a good guy, as was T. Roosevelt, but it's been pretty much all downhill from there. The Party began decaying under Reagan, but became worse when they lost the White House to Bill Clinton. Gingrich comes to mind, and now are utterly loathsome.

Somebody mentioned Trey Gowdy, who I remember from the Gingrich years, and who like Gingrich made his bones on Bill's back, and actually saw footage of him subsequently as a Spartanburg prosecutor before he became a national figure on Forensic Files: "During his tenure he appeared in four episodes of the television program Forensic Files" He wasn't a bad guy before becoming a Republican or apparently after leaving the House, but like MAGA today, he was also loathsome in between.
It's a re-converted phone booth that I bought off of this guy:

I had to do a reverse image search to identify who that was. I guess you know what show I never watched.

For those who don't know how to do that but want to, go to this site and enter the link of a photo or other graphic content: TinEye Reverse Image Search

A nice family is a happy place to be.
Yes. I have a nice family - a wife, two dogs, and no children.

I can't emphasize enough what a good decision that was for us and how much we did that just wouldn't have been possible with children, which, incidentally, I prefer not to be with including in an airplane or a restaurant. If we had had children, there would be no exotic vacations two or three times a year. There would have been few or no Grateful Dead weekends, where we flew to some western American city to rent a hotel and see three shows over the weekend. There would have been fewer nights where we performed music live. And we could not have gone out to eat which was virtually every day our first decade of marriage.

We'd have traded all of that in for dirty diapers, runny noses, fighting, braces, school supplies every September, soccer practice, and sensible cars. That's all fine for people who find that fulfilling, but my wife and I are with the cat ladies. We have a different concept of family and family life.

Two anecdotes about children and restaurants:

Once, in a restaurant, loud, ill-mannered children and their parents were seated beside us. After a few minutes of noise and chaos, we moved across the room. The hate stares from them were palpable. Sorry, but that it takes a village stuff only goes so far.

Another time, at the next table, a baby was allowed to scream at the top of its lungs. The parents were oblivious, so I acted impetuously by screaming back at the child. The look on its and the adults' faces was priceless.
Vance is pro-family.
No, he's not. He pro-raising children. He isn't pro- my family. He's just weird and creepy. And a misogynist and racist. My family doesn't approve.
I am always impressed by women who have it both way; career and family and not just one or the other.
On behalf of my wife, thank you. She was my (medical) office manager, so besides living, traveling, and making music together, we also worked together.
Vance hit a sore spot
Vance made an unforced, bonehead error, and he must be regretting it, although he seems to be handling it by doubling down on the error. MAGA don't admit errors.

How did he not see the contempt he would receive thereafter? But that's the MAGA mind. Most who speak publicly say contemptible things, and we can assume that the rest just think them or only say them to other MAGA in private.

To get that address right click on the image and then copy image address and then paste into tin eye.

Or if using Google right click on the image and select "search images with Google" which does basically the same thing as the tin eye .

Like you, I'm not a Republican hater. I agree on Cheney and Kinzinger, and (to a slightly lesser degree) Mitt Romney, John Kasich and a few others. And there are Democrats I think are despicable, but I don't think it right to name them. Well, Bob Menendez, but that's obvious.

I like people who stand for what they say, and say what they stand for. Many years ago, while still a young man, I was a strong supporter of a Conservative candidate for Prime Minister, Robert Stanfield, who I still refer to as "the best PM we never had." (He owned Stanfield's. a company that made mostly underwear.) He probably lost an election in the 1970's because he fumbled a football.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Well, I am registered as a Republican but I am no MAGA. Probably will register as an independent eventually but I'm pretty lazy.
