EVOLUTION, what a lie.

O.K., to take a break from the lying and name-calling, let's go back to some unanswered questions for Fatihah:

True or false, Allah created each separate breed of dog at the time of original creation, and they have not changed significantly since then.

O.K., new species never come into existence, but they do go extinct. Therefore, the number of species should be steadily going down, right?

Response: You've confirmed from your own mouth that science isn't true, so what's the point of your question?

[QUOTE Autodidact]Because you are so ignorant of science, you don't understand that "not provable" is not the same as "not true."
Very few things in life can be proven, mostly math and formal logic and that's about it. Everything else that you take to be true is based on evidence. There always remains some possibility of error.(End quote)

Response: Post 1734 of page 174 proves to the contrary.

(Quote Autididact)
ToE is as true as any scientific discovery, including the round-earth theory. It can never be proven, any more than anything else in science.(End quote)

Response: Exactly. Thank you once again for confirming that ToE is not true.

It is exactly as true, and as false, as the theory that the earth is round. Just as you would be foolish, and ignoring scientific progress to cling to the flat-earth hypothesis, you would be foolish and ignoring scientific progress to cling to magic poofing hypothesis. According to science, Allah did not create the different species by magically poofing them, He used evolution (a much smarter way to do it.) Allahu Akbar.

I never said it's not true. It's the truest thing we have. What I said it, it's not based on proof. I did not expect you to grasp this distinction, and you have proven me right.

Don't worry about my "point," if your argument is correct, then you only have to answer honestly, which will give us the opportunity to evaluate the correctness of your argument. Of course, if you're scared...

Response: You can't see something that doesn't exist.

And you can't see things that do exist, if you refuse to look. If you decide in advance not to look, because you think you know they don't exist, then you will never see. And, as we all know, there is none so blind as he who will not see.

Again, you're wasting a lot of time trying to get these Muslims to discuss the data behind evolution. They don't care about the data; their position isn't based in the data in the slightest way whatsoever. All they know is that evolution contradicts the Quran, so evolution is wrong...period...end of discussion.

That's why they keep saying "prove it", yet set the conditions such that doing so would be impossible.

Scientific papers aren't proof because the scientists are liars. Why? Because they're saying things that contradict the Quran.

Personal accounts aren't proof because I'm a liar. Why? Because I'm saying something that contradicts the Quran.

Trying to get the Muslims here to go see evolution for themselves isn't proof because they won't go. Why? Because evolution contradicts the Quran, so it would be a waste of time to go see something that by definition can't happen.

You see the pattern here? You see the common, underlying theme? None of this has anything to do with science, evidence, data, or anything else other than what the Quran says. Thus, any time you spend not addressing that core issue is time wasted avoiding the true problem here.

What is particularly tragic is that at one time Islam led the world in scientific learning and discovery. Somehow this noble tradition has been hijacked and turned into a celebration of ignorance. Maybe someone who has studied the history can fill us in on how this happened.

It's relatively easy to "lead the world in science" when most of the rest of the world is stuck in the Dark Ages and/or living a subsitance existence. When "Hey, there's this thing called a zero" and knowing basic algebra is enough to foist you to the top of the pile, it's roughly the equivalent of being the best hockey player in Equador.

Deep down these folks are threatened and more than a little scared. They see the rest of the world around them; they know full well just how far ahead of them the modern world is (and in how many areas); they see how primitive many Muslim countries are. So what do they do? They can either bring themselves up to speed or they can try and drag the rest of the world down to their level.

Clearly, they're trying to do the latter.

I didn't think you'd understand it, and I was right.

So, is all of science wrong then? Can I have your Blackberry?

Response: Not at all.

Well, none of it is any more true than ToE. It's all based on evidence. All of it. Nothing in science is proven. Science isn't about proof; it's about evidence. So if you reject all knowledge based on evidence, then you have to reject all scientific knowledge.

NOTHING IN SCIENCE IS PROVEN.

I don't for a second discount the contributions Islamic scholars made to early science. The problem is, it kind of came to a screeching halt and the rest of the world flew past you centuries ago.

The problem is it doesn't contradict the Quran. It only contradicts your interpretation of the Quran.

But at least you understand that you're calling the vast majority of the world liars, and choosing instead to get your information from a very outdated book.
