Forgiveness

Why do you think that not forgiving someone always = anger, resentment, bitterness or ill will towards another?

Because experience tells me, these negative feelings are what prevent us forgiving those who have hurt us. The only way to lose the hurt is to forgive the one that hurt us. Forgiveness is the door that leads to freedom.

That might have been your experience but it is not everyone's experience.
Have you never heard the saying what's good for the goose is not always good for the gander?

That is how forgiveness works for me. Telling me otherwise is nothing short of arrogant.
Not arrogant. But hey if you can’t forgive someone who commits a crime because of a mental illness and shows no remorse then that’s ok by me

If I hold anger, resentment, bitterness or ill will towards another in my heart, I allow a corrosive poison to eat at me from the inside. Experience has shown me this.

But this is what I have mentioned before on this very topic: I take forgiveness to mean more than merely letting go of anger. Do you not?
