I Am A Good Person, Therefore, I'm Going To Heaven!

Hmm .. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed. I agree that people with faith in Almighty God will eventually go to heaven, but it's the "eventually" that concerns me .. avoiding major sins is very important. It's not always easy as there are many temptations.

How is it that you think that a person who commits sins without caring could reach the same destination as a person who is careful and contemplative?
Almighty God is the fairest of all judges .. although faith is the most important thing, deeds are also important. If our deeds are that bad, we could even lose our faith .. very dangerous

Many people believed they are saved by:

1. Faith
2. Deeds
3. Some of both

God judges differently. Only perfect people can go to Heaven, as imperfect people would have conflicts in Heaven, making it less than Heaven.

Trusting Jesus forgives all our sins, all our deeds, all our lack of faith. The believer will be transformed, ready for Heaven.

Again, I hear what you mean about deeds and faith. Can your deeds or faith perfect you? Only Jesus can perfect any other person.

So who is it that judges? God or Jesus?

God has delegated judgment to Jesus Christ. You can read the scriptures for more. However, we are to judge ourselves, in part. Judge:

1. Am I morally perfect?

2. Are you?

3. If we have a fight in Heaven, I hurt your feelings or body, you hurt mine, is it Heaven?

4. Then you know we must be more than religious, we must be changed. This is the message of the cross.

I hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."

Really?

I would ask, why did Jesus bother to die on the cross then?

Hell is the wait for a reason to live. Death is the loss of the reason why we have lived.

I dunno if you're satisfied with my answer. I merely answered the second question that to sense life is humans heaven which is desired by them.

Wait,,,
It is not then going to be you who gets to heaven?
I mean if you have to be made into someone else by Jesus before you can enter heaven.......

A new creation also means "a re-creation". Same soul, different body. Thanks for asking a serious question. I do appreciate it.

I see .. so how will Jesus judge others such as Jews and Muslims?

1. I'm a Jew. I'm going to Heaven.

2. I have sinned. Ghandi was a very religious man who worshipped idols. Idolatry is a sin, yes?

3. Very good and very religious people are still sinful. We need to trust Jesus. If a Muslim or Jew is open to truth, Jesus will reveal Himself to them!

Absolutely the best post I have ever read on here!

Concerning knowing one's salvation is sure:

1 John 5:13
These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.

Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

I think that people who do not believe in Jesus will also have eternal life. True, there will be some gnashing of pre-molars. But still life, nevertheless.

But if Jesus is God, does that mean that Jesus raised Himself from "death"?

1. You are of course entitled to your opinion but that's not what the scripture says.

2. Methinks you don't get the doctrine of the trinity or you don't like it.

Jesus in me
I hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."

I believe it was not so that men could go to Heaven but so that Jesus would draw all men to Him.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.

Do they also think bad people go to heaven?

Hypothetically speaking: someone brutally tortures, rapes and murders your child. Do they go to heaven too?

Why did Jesus die on the cross?

I believe it depends on what Jesus is willing to do. His love will determine what He will do.

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

According to your faith, if he believes in Jesus: Absolutely!

I don't remember seeing a passage that says if one believes in Jesus one goes to Heaven. If you find one let me know.

Joh 20:31 but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.
That certainly is part of it, but drawing men to Him results in eternal life. So I don't think we are disagreeing.
