Faith! It's all about faith! Faith in YHWH, creator of all things, and faith in His Word. Without it, you are lost. So yes, repentance is sorely needed by those who reject Him and His Word.

I'm lost? You realise there's an app for that, right? Tells me exactly where I am.

*checks app*

Seventh Circle of Hell. Well, go figure. I never realised.

Their names are mentioned throughout the New Testament.
I'm not asking for the apostles' names. I'm asking for evidence that the gospels are written by apostles or companions of apostles before Iraneus. I'll wait.

I'd be happy to just as soon as you link me to credible sources which say Muhammed was born before Jesus.
Maybe I was confused. No one believes Muhammad lived before Jesus. The only thing I can think of regarding this is that Muslims claim people were MUSLIM prior to Muhammad, in the sense that the word means "submitted to God" and surely anyone obedient to the Lord qualifies in at least the dictionary sense.

You need to explain why you think it is so important for us to know about Jesus' childhood. Afterall, you are the one who brought it up.
I'm honestly curious why these things don't bother you:

There are 12 apostles claimed (even though in reality there were scores more). We have only two gospels supposedly written by said apostles with the other two being a translator for Peter or the companion of Paul.

Jesus is so important and yet we can't be bothered to know about his childhood and early adulthood when at least one gospel can go on and on about his birth.

Jesus clearly noted that (at least heaven) is a lot like a double jeopardy clause, in that we will get rewards based on our deeds/goodness (contradicted in certain other passages, but I think the what-you-see-is-what-you-get thing is more common, IIRC), but you believe that Jesus does not count your rewards at all, even though he clearly stated that if you were rewarded on earth for your deeds/goodness, you don't get squat for it in heaven. Plus, if grace exists, it's none of your business who God puts in heaven to start with.

That, of course, is your opinion.
LOL. IT ... IS ... NOTED ... IN ... THE ... TEXTS.

The Bible says Jesus was sinless. I believe the Bible.
No, you don't. You believe baseless claims in the bible and never studied how Jesus is actually portrayed as a character.

Please cite a single credible source which names a person in history who was greater and who performed more miracles than Jesus did.
The Bible. You should read it sometime.

Concerning knowing one's salvation is sure:

1 John 5:13
These things I have written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.

Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Not a Chick Tract Christian. Not everyone who slaps on the fish magnet on their car is getting into heaven, per Jesus himself.

Hare Krishna,Hare Krishna,
I m a good person which is why I'll take birth among heavenly planets where sensory indulgence prevails and advanced scientific n spiritual technologies, on the degree of goodness I've attain by my karma.

I m both good and bad, therefore I'll take birth among earthly planets with human like intelligence, based on the degree of my Karma.

I m an evil person, therefore I'll take birth among the lowest species in the cosmos or the lowest or hellish worlds, based on the degree of my evil karma.

I m a self realized person who has gained enlightenment and understands the cosmos, truth and the self, I'll simply merge with the cosmic consciousness and never take birth in this material world again.

I prefer the last one.

The OP is pretty sarcastic, innit? Like, HA! all you good people think you're going to heaven, but you're really going to burn in hell.

It's funny that people brag about believing in a God that regularly sends good people to burn in hell.

"My God sends good, kind people to Hell, and I'm super happy about it!!" SMFH

I have been reading this thread. Does anybody know where the bible came from? Who had it built? Why was it built? There was no bible in the time Jesus was here on earth. If I were to suggest, "God did not have the bible built...so where do you think it came from...and if I were to also suggest, religions use the bible, and if the bible is not from God, what are religion's teaching?" I Do believe in God, his son our lord Jesus, and also Gods written word.

Are you contradicting yourself?
1. If the Bible is not from God, who built it?
2. I do believe in.....God's written word

Neil Lightfoot has a great book called "How We Got the Bible." It's very informative and inexpensive. You can get it through amazon.com. During Jesus' time, there was the Septuagint, which was the OT Scriptures that had been translated from Hebrew to Greek. Many of the New Testament quotes from the Hebrew Bible are taken from the Septuagint.

I hear this all the time. "I'm good, therefore I'm going to heaven."

Really?

I would ask, why did Jesus bother to die on the cross then?
I would ask you why belief in Jesus would be necessary to get into heaven. I understand what the Bible claims, but it never made sense to me. I'm hoping, there are many paths to God. And even lacking belief in God doesn't seem like a reasonable requirement if one still lives a good, charitable, purposeful and loving life.

I mean, why was Jesus' death even necessary anyways. Couldn't God have figured out a way around it?

Again, I know what the Bible claims. Just asking for a line of reasoning as to why it makes sense.

I know someone who believes we all go to heaven
and the 'bad' stuff gets forgotten and never dealt with

but I see no point in forming unique individuals only to have that spirit dissipate
so.....we become unique....and suffer for the doing we have chosen

I like to post the pending situation....
Jesus, Judas and Hitler.....sitting at the Table
sharing bread and a sauce bowl.....looking each other in the eye

Why did Jesus die on the cross?
right after His pronouncement.....
Do unto others as you would it done unto you.....

the Pharisees began plotting His death

the golden rule was not the work of Jesus.....it was heathen law
the golden rule was carved in stone a thousand years before the Carpenter walked

it was heaven law
everybody knew it
and if held first in regard, the old law of Moses would fade
an eye for and eye is harsh and the Pharisees used it to hold control

the golden rule sets all men free......your action comes first

He died because of a false accusation
the Pharisees pleaded ....He claims to be the son of God! ....heresy!

the Romans didn't care....not their problem
then the Pharisees explained......the King of the Jews IS the son of God

there is no king but Caesar.
and Pilate wrote script......King of the Jews ....and had it nailed to the cross
a note of condemnation under roman law

the Pharisees complained but Pilate replied....
I have written what I have written

which in turn tells the Pharisees ....Judea shall never have a king
the prophecy will never be allowed as long as Rome rules

Please provide a Scripture which says we DESERVE heaven.
John 3.16 sounds like He loves us dearly enough to send His Son to save us, John 3.17 sounds like he sent His Son to save us and not condemn us. God seems to love us enough for us to deserve a 2nd chance to restore our relationship with Him through Jesus. At least that is what I see, have a nice day sister!

You have asked a very good question...very few have. In the scriptures, Jesus is known as the second Adam. Adam was created perfect, so was Jesus. Within Jesus was an unborn human race. That race was given to save our human race. Note the time Jesus was in the grave...we say three days. It was two and a half days, but the Jews call part of a day a full day, thus we say three days. Here is a medical fact...After a man dies, his sperma stays alive up to three days.
Are you going to heaven? No. We will all be under the rule of Jesus here on, Paradise Earth. Some will follow Gods law by love, others by force. The seed of Satan will not be in paradise.

You are just arguing semantics..
heaven/paradise .. same thing..
Almighty God knows best who will enter paradise
People who say "only such and such" will go must think that they have the same authority as God ;)
