Israeli forces kill dozens of Palestinians in Gaza 'massacre'

Palestinians elected Hamas, and Hamas's goals have not changed. The Palestinian people knew what Hamas's objectives were when they elected them.

That is true. They did vote in Hamas.
However, that was 11 years ago and I wonder if they would vote the same today after living under Hamas.
I was Israel for several years before the PLO came to Gaza and there were good relations being built between Israelis & people in Gaza.

One of the projects that the Israeli government set up was to partner Israeli and Gazaans into shared businesses, so that the living standards go be improved for Gaza.
Of course all those Gaza business people who partnered with Israelis were murdered by the PLO as soon as the the 'peace deal' was made.

I used to visit there regularly and my friends there were free to come and visit me at my home(Jerusalem).

Dozens of Palestinians were killed in Gaza and more than 2,000 wounded as the Israeli army fired live ammunition and tear gas at protesters assembled along the fence with Israel on Monday.

It was the highest Palestinian death toll in a single day since a series of demonstrations dubbed the Great March of Return began on March 30 - and since the 2014 Gaza war.

Of the hundreds of wounded, the Ministry of Health said at least 74 were children, 23 were women, and eight were journalists.

Lord have mercy! :(

This is heartbreaking, I'll keep the victims and their families in my prayer. I hope that one day Israel will be held accountable for this crime.

By now you are probably forgetting how we got to this talking point. Its a simple move from Tel Aviv to W Jerusalem. Yes it cost millions but Mexico is going to pay for it. Just kidding. and what I am trying to point out is that diplomacy is so expensive that the price of the move is not impressive.
There's an old Revoltistanian saying.....
"A million here...a million there...eventually it can add up to real money."
A war with Iran would cost far more and take away much of the respect of the civilized world. At this point were we to go to war having reneged on our deal and with our recent history of fighting we'd lose many friends and it would be poo in our pants for a long time.

But I thought this thread was supposed to be about how Israel is just too touchy.
It all seems on topic to me.

Honestly, if you were Palestinian, why wouldn't you want to destroy Israel after how terribly Israel had treated Palestinians, The Zionists have some nerve, they invade a region, and then oppress the natives, and claim they have a right to be there and the natives do not, its sheer lunacy on the Zionists part, they do not deserve a country, they had their chance to be good neighbors and they blew it, big time. If they do not reform their behaviour to the natives, they may well lose the country they know today. That's how karma works.

Know what insanity is - doing the same thing and expecting a different result - variously quoted and not necessarily right, but does apply here, since the Palestinians don't appear to have changed what they are doing - anything changed. No.

Edit: I should say - not all Palestinians - just those one who will exploit such situations - like Hamas militants.

And IDF has not appeared to change the trigger happy thing they do.

Trump is the one to blame. He chose to move the embassy to Jerusalem.

Trump is the one to blame. He chose to move the embassy to Jerusalem.
Actually, he just followed through on the decision made 20 years ago.
"The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995[1] is a public law of the United States passed by the 104th Congress on October 23, 1995. The proposed law was adopted by the Senate (93–5),[2] and the House (374–37)"

"Its purpose was to set aside funds for the relocation of the Embassy of the United States in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, by May 31, 1999"

Certainly. And Israel should withdraw its settlements on the West Bank. Netanyahu should resign or be defeated. Abbas should do the same. The Palestinian media should cease to deny Israel's right to exist. Israel should not meet rocks with bullets. Hamas and/or others should not throw Molotovs.

You want more?

I largely agree with your direction here. I believe in a two state solution, but I'm not convinced the Arabs do. If I was in charge, I'd give the WB to Israel and I'd create a Palestinian state at the south end of Israel that includes a SW chunk of Jordan and a bit of the Sinai. And while I was at it, I'd make a state for the Kurds and one for the Yazidis, and probably some other peoples I forgot.

But for the UN and the media and the BDS to constantly single out Israel in this region seems unjust. For anyone to claim apartheid seems disingenuous. All throughout the ME, Muslims are creating apartheid states for non-Muslims or forcing them out of the region. This should be on the minds of everyone when discussing this situation.

Above all else, withdraw its settlements on the West Bank. Second, end its occupation of the same.

The Palestinian side, above all else, needs to recognize Israel's right to exist.

Given the Arab's hatred of the Jews, such a gerrymandered set of borders is not tenable. Such a border would be indefensible.

The American people elected Obama, does that make all Americans complicit in Obama's crimes?

When one country declares war on another, both populations become involved whether they want to or not. War sucks, but them's the rules.

Absolutely disgraceful and yet another crime that Israel needs to answer for in an international criminal court. There's no excuse, political or otherwise, for the deliberate killing of civilians.

Palestinian leaders have declared war on Israel and they use their own civilians as cannon fodder. I think perhaps those crimes ought to be tried in court, don't you?

Given that Palestine has declared war on Israel, what crime do you think Israel has committed?

At this point, I strongly believe that the entire Middle East without exception doesn't have a single respectable country. Israel's neighbors are mostly religiously prejudiced, culturally backward havens of extremism, while Israel itself is blatantly abusing civilians and killing them in addition to building illegal settlements.

What a mess of a region that used to be a powerhouse of civilization centuries ago.
