Yes, the NT says, Iesous. So? It was not we who said 'don't translate names' as @Limo said.
It's impossible they did not understand every word and every verse they read.
Uh, they speak no Arabic. How would they understand any of it? I could sit down and read an entire book in German and I wouldn't come away understanding anything, as I speak no German.

We were talking about whom reading Quran in Arabic .
For example,
I knew a girl who was Bengali, but spoke English as native tongue. She could only recite Quran in Arabic, but had no idea what any of it meant.
This is the case for most non Middle Eastern Muslims.
It's does not work all time like that.
Especially with someone can read Arabic.
I don't believe she don't understand each word.

He said not to translate. You were giving differences in linguistic usage.
Anyway, I dont know why someone has to say not to translate a name when no one did and no one even asked for.
But there are instances when the Quran translators have used explanations as names because they probably didnt know what it meant. Mainly because they needed to prove that ahadith written 250 years or so later stand high in importance to interpret the Quran.
Nevertheless, have you put to thought that this verse in the Quran does not say Jesus, it says Masihu or Messiah? Thats the description of Jesus.
She said so herself, she knew not a word.

Then Why it's translated to Jesus-Christ ?
