It's your misuse of the word exponential and there really isn't an increase in gender dysphoria. It remains rare and what we are seeing, much like with homosexuality, is people feeling more safe coming out of the closet.

That doesn't magically cut out the team id healthcare providers.
And, no, parents shouldn't be informed. Children who won't tell their parents on their own have a very real risk of their safetey being jeopardized if thier parents find out. Plus it isn't the school's or anyone else's business to air. Even if there isn't a safety concern it is for the child to inform the parents.
Trying to change the subject... not interested. How many operations were performed on homosexuals? none...
And here is the breakdown of family, society and the country.
Next, they won't need to tell their parents that they are taking drugs... "for their safety". Hey, if they want to have intercourse with a 20 years old... no need to let the family know either... where does it stop?

I'm not changing the subject, I'm addressing it. What we see is more people feeling safe coming out of the closet, and if it were "exponential" then we'd see a much larger percentage of the population being trans. But that's not happening.
Amd homosexuality doesn't involve anything medical so no there are no operations. Your point is invalid.

So you do think you should be making decisions for other peoples' children? Apparently you do.

Do you want me in your doctor's office with you and your child when you're making medical decisions, on yours and your child's behalf? Let's add another element and imagine that I have no idea what I'm talking about, and I've read and misunderstood the studies involved in determining what course of medical and psychological action should be taken on your child's behalf. Do you think I have the right to be there?
And here, I'll tweak it slightly again ....
Do you think you have the right to go into doctor's offices with other people and their children, and make medical decisions for those other people and their children, on their behalf? Imagine that you have no idea what you're talking about, and that you've read and misunderstood the studies involved in determining what course of medical and psychological action should be taken on behalf of someone' else's child. Do you think you have the right to be there? Why?

Coming out of the closet didn't work out so well for him, thanks to prevailing attitudes similar to yours.

Since the suicide rate is significantly higher with those teens not getting any help, then that's a form of abuse as well that sometimes leads to death. To deny the drive of hormones is nonsensical, and to deny help for those in need is even worse.

Exactly! Why do I or the government(s)have the supposed right to tell other parents what they should or should not do with their own children when the medical community clearly states that hormone suppressants are generally safe? And if teen, parents, and doctors agree that a medical operation is best for the teen, what right do I or the government(s) have to deny them this approach?
And it's not you or I that are "politicizing" this since the reality is that it's DeSantis' "culture wars" hype that has propelled this to national attention. Fine, we can have this discussion, but it is unethical, imo, for us to intervene in what is a family medical situation.
