Lack of belief in gods.

and science has observed expansion.....and in regression believes the universe to have a
point of origin.....Genesis

and I don't think of God as human

and we are not discussing my science recitals

we are discussing your lack of belief

Standard models of cosmology (which includes the Big Bang) suggest that the total mass-energy of the universe contains 4.95% ordinary matter and with other 95.1% being dark matter-energy. Something we know almost nothing about other then it is mostly likely there. So I don't buy your notion that science found the "point of origin" if such a thing even exist.

excludes the existence of God?

Classic God of the gaps.

"God of the gaps" is a term used to describe observations of theological perspectives in which gaps in scientific knowledge are taken to be evidence or proof of God's existence. The term was invented by Christian theologians not to discredit theism but rather to point out the fallacy of relying on teleological arguments for God's existence.[1] Some use the phrase as a criticism of theological positions, to mean that God is used as a spurious explanation for anything not currently explained by science.

and life is to short to secure a list of what you do need

you will....as do we all....die in need

but of course...
your lack of faith will negate a need for continuation

no problem.....right?
I don't lacke anything, and when I die I will be happy, I don't go through life hoping for a better one, what a wast that would be, you are the one that is lacking, you are lacking self realization.

It's no more or less 'important' than is the belief that carrots are vegetables.

I don't think he is wrong here especially since important is in quotes but carrots are currently defined as a vegetable. We have a definition of what a vegetable is as opposed to a fruit but our definition of gods varies. And that variation is quite drastic and I do not personally believe that the belief that carrot is a vegetable can adequately be compared to the belief that Papa smurf created us all and is our god and am inclined to believe Jay is being either facetious or just trolling.

No, I didn't. You made the claim God was dark matter then did your normal nonsense.
you wanted to know the percentage......
and since you claim we don't know what dark matter is......

it could be God

you may continue your nay saying

it's entertaining

Good observation. Thanks. However ...

^This is just petty ridicule.

It was, indeed, flippant and, perhaps, inappropriately so. My only defense is that I've been here since May of 2004 and have seen this debate repeatedly resurrected by people who have never taken time to search for and study such threads.

As for the topic ...

One of my favorite quotes is from Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel who wrote: "to be is to stand for." It usually comes to mind in the context of another quote: "tzedek, tzedek tirdof" (justice, justice shall you pursue), but I believe it to apply here as well.

The Daoine Sidhe:

If I walk into a room of randomly selected people and ask each if s/he believes in the Doine Sidhe, many will legitimately claim an absence of belief. The legitimacy of this claim rests on the fact that they have no idea what the term means. But, as soon as this person is able to conceptualize the Doine Sidhe, s/he will automatically seek to integrate this conceptualization with others which are relevant. The result is a opinion.

It may be "I don't know."
It may be "yes" - provisionally or otherwise.
It may be "no" - provisionally or otherwise.

S/he will, automatically as a product of conceptualization and integration, "stand for" something. You do us all a favor by making this clear in your case with your petty "Papa smurf" construct.

I never said it wasn't God. There was no "nay saying". You need to learn how to read.

I asked you for your evidence. Which is a very reasonable question, since you are claiming 95.1% of the universe is God.
