'Man was created in the image of G-d'

This is false. Jesus was not a 'normal person who had a religious experience'. He was divine from birth, indicated by worship from the three wise men. You are simply trying, again, to mesh religious concepts that don't mix. Christianity doesn't believe that Jesus was just like the rest of us, Trinitarians don't believe that, oneness Christians don't believe that, it isn't part of the religion.

Jesus was likely a young man who came under the influence of of John the Baptist. He received John's blessing to continue his teaching.

Obviously no way to prove this, but it's what I believe. Seems more likely then a virgin birth to me. I don't necessarily expect you to believe this and I fine with it if you don't.

Actually, I don't know what you want me to 'prove'.
How quickly you forget:

My belief is that Jesus=God, that's how I read the Bible. There are references to Jesus the God, many Christians believe Jesus is God, it is pretty standard theology.
So all you have in support of your claim is "it is what I believe"?

Not a single verse?

It just isn't the flavor you want i.e. trinity I have to assume.
Your assumption here is most comical.
Especially given that my "religious affiliation" is clearly listed right next to my avatar....

So, are you going to support your claim with something other than "it is what I believe" or are you going to continue ignoring the request?

The OP is a figuration of verse, an interpretation. It is deduced from a Christian perspective. It is up to others to disprove the deduction, beyond what is presented. Basically my OP stands until disproven. Good luck.

I do stuff

Of all the people mentioned in the New Testament only the age of John the Baptist is given, not his exact age, but his age in relationship to Jesus’s age. John was six months older then Jesus. Ever wonder why his age is mentioned?

'Man was created in the image of G-d'.
The G-d that is the likeness of man is Jesus, not an "invisible' god.

Jesus is The Creator G-d.

After your last couple of posts in this thread, I decided to go back and reread you OP.

Could you give us an idea of why you believe this?

We are told specifically that YHVH Elohiym is the creator God, and in Genesis, that Elohiym creates humans.

Also -

Isa 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? YHVH, the everlasting Elohiym, the Creator of the ends of the earth; He is not faint, nor does He grow weary; there is no searching to His understanding.

Isa 43:1 But now thus saith YHVH that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

We are told the "Logos" is with God (most Christians assume the Logos to be Jesus), but so are others, and it says John was sent forth first, - and he isn't a god.

Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

It says Jesus is the Son, not God.

Though, of course, I realize all kinds of ideas have evolved since then.

So tell us what you believe about that .

The Son is the Father. It's different aspects of the same Godhead.

Therefore, since God created man, so did Jesus.

I don't even have to present the Genesis inference, we still would have Jesus as Creator God.

/The OP is just something of interest/

Jesus was God from the birth. but he had to become aware that truth. Jesus had that at the moment of his baptism. If he was aware from his birth, what is the necessity of his experience of God at his baptism? If he was aware that he was God from his birth why he had to struggle with the devil? the scripture says that Jesus grew in wisdom and knowledge. It has taken time to realize that the he was the son of God and God.
The story of three wise men worshiping Jesus was later construction.
So also the trinitarian dogma was the construction of the early church based on the statements of Jesus.

Jesus peace be upon him was aware who he was from the beginning and he was not god.

Can you use the word "image" in a sentence...?

OF COURSE!!

But note that I in no way said anything about this being something physical--which YOU implied.

Why should the meaning of the word be completely different when we're talking about God creating man in His image?

Ever hear of metahpor?

The term is clearly used metaphorically here.

LOTS of scripture does this, in case you never noticed the fact.

Peace,

Bruce

No, I don't think so. The Magi figured out that something was afoot from the get-go. They were the first to aknowledge Jesus, because they were wise.

I think the Trinitarian doctrine is a way to fit a more secular understanding of Jesus into the Godhead, but, we realize that it is essentially stating divinity to Jesus as well.
Saul was probably atheistic when he 'met' Jesus on the way to Damascus, hence why he freaked out. Saul must've assumed the 'human only' nature of Jesus prior to his meeting Him in spirit. If later, as Paul, he tried to reconcile this with his understanding of reality, we can only guess.
No matter how you look at it, Jesus is a transcendental being i.e. God.

Basically my OP stands until disproven.

This statement is a sure sign you cannot support your claim.
Otherwise you would have supported it.

Interestingly enough, any claim that relies on someone disproving it in order to hold is a claim not worth claiming.
