Your "mistake", in my opinion, is judging women based on what they wear. Or don't wear. You can tell absolutely nothing of real significance about a woman from her outfit. Also, it's none of your business. We don't get dressed in the morning thinking "how can we make sure we are favorably judged by FearGod".

Obviously I disagree. I think judging people by the way they dress is shallow, arrogant, immature and fundamentally xenophobic.
Why? Why do you feel the need to evaluate her based on what she is wearing? Do you feel the need to evaluate men based on what they are wearing? Why not evaluate her based on her personality, or based on the type of person she really is rather than her choice of clothing?
You can continue to do this, but you won't make many friends that way.
By your own evaluation, can you accept that non-Muslims find women in hijab to be oppressed? Even more oppressed wearing a jilbab? Most oppressed wearing a burqa/niqab? I'm not saying this is how I feel, but can you see how others would see this pattern?

Once again it's all about the viewers immodesty not the woman's.
You "evaluate" her; therefore she must be immodest when you are the one ogling and obsessing enough to pass judgement.
I'm curious... what happens if you see a woman on the beach in a swimsuit then see her later in a pair of pants and a long sleeved shirt? Does her "modesty" change at your whim or is "modesty" a set value?

IMO by making women sex symbols and "evaluating" their modesty by clothing or lack thereof, we have allowed men to lack control over their lists and desires...it's like they have to be turned on by seeing some skin.

In terms of Islamic clothing, that is surely a case of men being allowed to decide that they want absolutely no responsibility for their part in respecting women and their choices. It's much easier to drop all the responsibility on the women.

That's a matter of opinion. I think humans in general can be beautiful.
I just wear what's comfortable, if that's not very modest then it doesn't bother me too much. Would take a lot of effort for me to care less
