Citizen Mod
The Wicker Man (with Rifftrax commentary)
DVD/ Color/ 102 Mins./ UR/ 2006
Sheriff Edward Maulis (Nicolas Cage) gets more than he bargained for when he probes a young girl's disappearance in Neil LaBute's remake of the 1973 psychological thriller. The investigation leads the sheriff to an island off the Pacific Northwest, where he encounters a populace of modern pagans. As he follows a string of disturbing clues, the trail leads him to a shocking conclusion. Ellen Burstyn, Molly Parker and Leelee Sobieski co-star.

I never saw this movie before now (I saw the original) but even though it was a terrible remake, I am glad that I had the chance to watch it with Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy (of MST3K fame)

Any movie lover should check this out to see what the future of movies will look like. It was amazing.

I am very excited to see that. I can't wait until it comes to our IMAX. Of course, I'm going to have to, because our IMAX likes to drag its feet... :(

Citizen Mod
ERAGON (with Rifftrax commentary)
DVD/ Color/ 102 Mins./ PG/ 2006
When 15-year-old Eragon (Edward Speleers) stumbles upon a dragon's egg -- and then that egg hatches -- he sets in motion a series of events that leads him to assume the legacy of a legendary race of dragon riders. Jeremy Irons plays the wise storyteller Brom, and John Malkovich plays the evil king Galbatorix in this fantasy adventure based on the first book of Christopher Paolini's popular Inheritance trilogy.

Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy are on board to deal this bomb the riffing it deserves. Both MST3K alumni make obvious but hilarious references to Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter. Their comentary actually made this movie better if you can believe that possible.

I saw Hairspray last night. It was a lot of fun. But if you don't care for people singing and dancing in the streets...you probably won't like it.

Transformers rocked my socks off. Its special effects were exactly how I imagined it as a kid. Lots of fun!

Citizen Mod
Reign Of Fire (with RIFFTRAX commentary)
DVD/ Color/ 105 Mins./ PG-13/ 2002
In post-apocalyptic England, an American (Matthew McConaughey) and a Brit (Christian Bale) team up to fight off a brood of fire-breathing dragons seeking to return to dominance after centuries of rest. Bale -- leading a clan of survivors to hunt down the Queen of the Dragons -- has much at stake: His mother was killed by a dragon, but his love interest (Izabella Scorupco) is still alive.

Again, I must be honest, I never saw Reign Of Fire until now. Rifftrax advertises that the movies they riff have it coming. This may have been an exception if not for Matthew McConaughey’s over-the-top performance.

The Decalogue
DVD/ Color/ 600 Mins./ NR/ 1987
Krzysztof Kieslowski's award-winning cinematic masterpiece is a riveting, profound work of supreme daring and imagination. Using one of the Ten Commandments as a thematic springboard for each film in this collection, Kieslowski bucks the trend of action-based or psychological filmmaking, exploring the lives of ordinary people flailing through inner torments, hard decisions and shattering revelations.

Firewall (with Rifftrax commentary)
DVD/ Color/ 104 Mins./ PG-13/ 2006
As creator of a state-of-the-art security system for a Seattle-area bank, Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) has cemented his reputation as a man who's thought of everything. But when a criminal (Paul Bettany) finds a way into Jack's personal life by targeting his family, everything Jack holds dear is suddenly at stake. Virginia Madsen, Alan Arkin and Robert Patrick co-star in this taut thriller directed by Robert Loncraine.

Star Wars Episode Two; Attack Of The Clones (with Rifftrax commentary)
DVD/ Color/ 142 Mins./ PG/ 2002
George Lucas' famous saga about a galaxy far, far away continues. Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) makes progress in his Jedi training, falls in love with the beautiful Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), and grows into a young man capable of a power that can either save or destroy him. Though under the direction of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), Anakin wrestles with the demons that begin to lure him to the Dark Side.

Hilarious riffing moments at the expense of Hayden Christensen's performance.

I saw "Sunshine" a week ago. It was actually fairly good, although I don't think it really needed to take the last step into the horror genre.

Casino Royale (with Rifftrax commentary)
DVD/ Color/ 144 Mins./ PG-13/ 2006
Martin Campbell (GoldenEye) directs this film adaptation (the 21st of the Bond franchise) of Ian Fleming's first novel. Daniel Craig debuts as the new Bond who takes on a corrupt financier (Mads Mikkelsen) in a showdown of Texas Hold 'Em. You'll learn Bond's back story as the action-packed film takes you to the Bahamas, Madagascar and other exotic locales. Eva Green stars as Vesper Lynd, and the sublime Judi Dench reprises her role as M.

Attention all MST3K fans!! Mike Nelson and Co. have just finished a Rifftrax commentary for Independance Day. Talk about a film that has it coming.

I saw Rush Hour 3 last weekend. It was better than I expected. I just figured they wouldn't be able to make it as good as the first two, but it was at least close and maybe better than the 2nd one. Then again, I love Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, so I'm a little biased about the movie.

BTW, I had a chance to buy Chris Tuckers Corvette that was the exact car in Rush Hour 1 a few years ago when I was in Chicago (dash signed by Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan). It was actually cheaper than I had expected, and I could have made payments on it which would have been less than most new cars. I should have done it since it was also in Rush Hour 3. I could have probably sold it for a profit :(.
