Myth: People are Fleeing California

Wouldn't surprise me. And good riddance. It seems a more diverse society makes it easier to way more people than where it's predominately and heavily and mostly white bread Conservatives who would think it's "basically Mexico" here.
I just came back from a week in San Diego, where I hadn't been in over 10 years. I honestly didn't notice that there were more Latinos than before. I did notice there were more openly same-sex couples though, which is great.

But man was everything expensive!

Seriously...

“But the reason slavery and racism are terrible things is that every human being must live with dignity and in freedom.

How can we arrive to the conclusion that the remedy and antidote to slavery and racism is putting all Americans on the government plantation?

Not only is it immoral, but it doesn’t work. Government is supposed to be about protecting, not confiscating, our life, liberty and property.

If we want every child in America, of every background, to realize his or her potential, let’s strive for their dignity by making sure they grow up in a free country.”

I can't tell if you're trolling or just not.....um....well........I'll stop here.

From what I've heard the San Joaquin Valley isn't nearly as white as it used to be. San Diego I haven't been to yet and don't know much about.

The amazing thing is, I've been to a piece of the state roughly about the size of Indiana and there's still way more to see.

Whih policies, specifically?
How about school choice?

Liberals want poor minority kids trapped in failing schools because giving them the option to leave bad schools would take money out of the pockets of their teachers’ union allies. Poor kids are stuck in a terrible school system
set.aspx
due to leftist policies. Conservatives support school vouchers and choice so that poorer kids can escape and have the opportunity for better quality education.

You got to be kidding.
No, I'm not. I certainly don't live in anything that resembles a third world country. In fact, not only am I doing tons better here than I ever could have in Indiana, when I first moved here it took awhile to get used to being around such staggering wealth. Even in places that aren't LA, the Bay Area, or Silicon Valley, it's a very wealthy state.

You mean subsidizing their attendance in private schools? Many of which are religious and who can hand pick which students they admit or don't? Pass.

Why wouldn't we just improve public education altogether, rather than intentionally leaving certain students in crappy schools? Shouldn't all students have the opportunity to have equal quality education? Do you think I, as a liberal, want schools to be terrible? Why would anyone want that? Liberals have children too. That would make no sense.

A lot of those school vouchers go to religious schools. That's what many on the Left--and even some of the Right--object to. Along with the fact it leaves most students behind. That's not acceptable.
It's the Right who is trying to keep kids stuck where they are while only letting a few move on ahead.

Lottery systems aren't any better.
We need to improve school for everyone, not just a select chosen few.

California had the third greatest net state population loss from 2019 to 2020 with ~70,000. It followed New York (126,000) and Illinois (79,000). All deeply Blue states.

Also remember that the University of California is a state supported institution. In this case they have a vested interest in only presenting a report that would please its political patrons by giving them shade.

citation? Fox news? There's no doubt that Republicans are being encouraged to flee Democratic states

Oh, I got the figures from the Census Bureau web site. Michigan and Pennsylvania came in fourth and fifth among states that lost population. More Blue states.

The greatest gaining state was Texas, a Red state.

So that's just an estimate, not based on an actual count

“Just”? It is the official estimate from the Census bureau and is authoritative, by law, and required to be the most accurate figure for use between the decennial census. And it is based on count, simply a different mechanism.

We did lose abit of congressional representation. But, it's being used in more choosy way to try to counter the fact there is no exodus from California. It's not even consider the other study that suggests it's primarily white conservatives who are leaving.

we lost representation because our population increased but not as much as other states, we definitely didn't go down from the last census
