Maybe you misunderstood me. I was asking if you believed the claim that they only wanted to teach, "the Bible’s role in literature, history and culture." I don't. I know why they want their Bible in public schools. These people are confirmed liars. They just want the Supreme Court to OK what they say they want, but you can be certain that more bait-and-switch would follow.
I gave the argument for that. All we need do is look at the SCOTUS justices lying to be confirmed as well as what has happened since. Those justices always intended to impose their religion on you and me (I'm out of their jurisdiction now, so not me). And when others said that their intention was to let the states decide the matter, they were lying again. So why would we believe them now?
Liar, grifter, adulterer, sexual predator, malignant narcissist, sociopath, and convicted felon? I have to disagree there.
Yes, Jesus was a convicted felon, which is a huge blemish in his biography in my opinion. The idea that he was unfairly and unjustly convicted is as untenable as when Trump makes the same claim for himself. If Trump's defenders end up writing the history books, he too will be exalted despite being an enemy of the state. Jesus was convicted by two unrelated legal system of two distinct capital crimes. Both would have executed him, and the one that could did.
Why should the Bible as literature be taught to grade schoolers? There is much better literature than that. It's practically unreadable.
Besides, that's not the intent. You know that as well as I do.
They also say that it should be taught as history, but most of it is myth, magic, poetry, and prophecy. Where's the history part? We don't know for a fact that Jesus isn't also a myth.
