No admonishment for her "creationist" epithet? But I do get your point, let's sit around in a circle and strive to understand, that's worked so well in the past.
You're right that it's an insult we should avoid.
But "redneck" has bigger problems.

The perfect post to illustrate @Audie's post.
And the racist "redneck" epithet was icing on the cake.

Please people, let's be more civil, & strive to understand the other side's perspective.
There's room to design solutions to improve things.
I wouldn't say it's racist as it has always referred to specific demographs of white people, mostly traditionally the white working class (sunburnt necks may be where the term comes from), those of the South, and those percieved to be cou try bumpkins.

Read the books that others would burn.
Depends on the state, I guess. I do believe that the parents should be involved as much as possible when it comes to their kids' reading material.

And in a perfect world, each parent could customize their own kids' reading material... and it would stop at their own.

But schools have to deal in bulk -- one parent's suggestion or objection shouldn't determine the curriculum for an entire classroom, let alone a school or district.

Oh, so it's specific racism.
So if I used "porch monkeys" to refer only to lazy backs lounging around, it would be OK?

Huh.
Does it always so equate? Porn?
That's new to me.
You’ve never noticed that whenever literally whenever criticism arises about homosexuality in regards to “showing it to children” it always equates to porn? Seriously? They’ve been rather vocal about it for decades now

It’s like the fundamental basis for being against having gay people in children’s media. I swear
Like take the 1930s. Batman and Robin were accused of teaching children how to be gay. So much so that not only the Hays Code was written, but DC created Batwoman a character to assuage said accusations.
(Rather ironically the character became a lesbian in the modern age.)
Like you don’t get to that point of thinking by merely assuming two guys sharing a house equals a relationship, without at least considering their bedtime relationship. Even if one doesn’t really realise it fully. Like how else do you even get to that conclusion without thinking about sex? Maybe subconsciously so, I don’t know. But it doesn’t just spring out of no where.

Ngl, even as a teenager I found it weird.

Like I recall the controversy about this picture book detailing, the real life events, where two male penguins basically raised an egg/baby bird.
All the people opposed to it accused it of promoting homosexual sex to children. It was….weird.

I wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of any mass shooters but I guess making them out to be victims of racism is a good way of deflecting from the real issue.

I'm surprised they allowed Ernie and Bert to live together.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Nor should one student's.
