Pat Robertson says Haiti under a Curse

Perhaps this has been the way that the people would be brought to CHRIST and leave their superstitions behind.
:biglaugh:Sorry couldn't help myself! "leave their superstitions behind!" What do you call your beliefs, facts? You are no different believing what you believe, that there is a Christ who will save you, then they are for practicing voodoo. There is absolutely no difference, none, nada. You will whine about not being able to practice what you believe, yet you have the audacity to want to prevent others from practicing theirs. Talk about a double standard.

I said nothing about not helping, I did not say I felt no compassion. I must wonder about some people that take every thing on this earth and all things of faith out of context. It is easy to demonize what we do not understand, demonize to the point of blindness.

Exactly. And though it is OT, that is what some Christians do to gay people.

Easy to say, but what about all the Americans who just lost their money from our government taking it all to help the bankers. Now the bankers won't lend the aid back out.

I think people are putting their money where their mouth is, trying to scrape enough together to put food on their tables. Please

Can you spare $10? Yesterday 500,000 Americans texted $10 to the Red Cross, which = $5 million in 24 hours, a record. If you can spare $10 and one minute, we can make it $10 million today.

Let's be honest. As a Christian, I believe that the FALL of man and sin entering into a once perfect world is the reality. The entire universe is presently under the curse. ALL the bad things that happen are the direct result of this curse.
And it was God who pronounced the curse, so all the bad things that happen anywhere are caused by God.

95% of Haitians are Christians, compared to 76% of Americans. Apparently, God doesn't care if you're a Christian or not, but he prefers American superstitions (like Evangelicalism) to Haitian superstitions (like Voodoo).

Yes I had seen those stats or at least similar ones. I don't understand the mindset that makes one way of honoring a diety better than another one. Just me I guess.

I agree, many can not separate Love and the dislike of the actions of another. I can love my kids without liking a thing the do.

I have gay friends that know I don't like it, we don't discuss that topic much. And I love them as much as any other person.

he may exist, are things not rather horrible in most areas of the world?
Actually I think we are quite capable of messing things up all on our own. It is our responsibility to make the changes we want to see and quit attributing everything bad to the devil. Those kinds of beliefs lead us to give up and shrug our shoulders and say things like "it's in gods hands". If there is a god, and it created us, then it gave us brains. Now it is our turn, we get to use those brains.

There is always something that leaps into mind when I read discussions such as these- That Jesus didn't preach and teach the "holy" people, he taught the ones those same "holy" creatures called sinners. Jesus stopped a hooker from being stoned, Jesus cured demon-possessed people. Jesus taught a bunch of tax collectors.
In other words, Jesus only seemed to condemn those who thought they were better than those "sinners". He compared those "holy" people to tombs- nice and clean on the outside and full of dead, rotten things. And to a cup that is clean on the outside yet dirty on the inside.

We are supposed to follow in Jesus' footsteps. But hardly any one
seems to be doing that. :(
That's because we've gotten too busy creating and maintaining members-only clubs, which goes against the grain of the Great Commission.

ALL the bad things that happen are the direct result of this curse. It is only by the grace of GOD that every city of the earth is not tumbled into the sea.

Now, I do believe that satan encourages havoc to happen, but when it does GOD often brings good to those who love the LORD and has also caused revival were none was ever thought possible.

I do not know what good may come out of the terror now faced in Haiti, but I believe anything is possible with the LORD.
Read Genesis again. The world was not complete until humanity had been created. And it was created good.

What you you call EVOLUTION? Fact?:sarcastic

Voodoo never helped them, but GOD has certainly helped me, my family, and many of those I love. But I dare say more bad times will come. I've read Job.

And Adam and Eve are humanity in the eyes of GOD ---- just as Jacob was ISRAEL...
And they were created good. Which blows your previous theory out of the water. The world was not perfect until fallen humans stepped in and messed it up. The world was perfect until humans, created good, fell and messed things up. It's an important distinction.
