One of the things I've discovered on RF is that sometimes, there are threads that just leave me sad -- sad for just how much "man's inhumanity to man" there really is. Sad that there's so little empathy in a world desperate for it. Sad that I -- a non-religious, liberal Humanist -- adhere more closely to some of what Jesus Christ is credited with saying than many of his most zealous followers do.

The worst is that they feel no shame.
So when healthy Jews arrived at camps they weren't concentrartion camps. They only became concentration camps wheen they lost significant weight? And most Nazi concentration camps had no gas chambers, so I guess they weren't concentration camps after all, according to your MAGA standards.
None of us are sure what the Trump 2.0 intends to do, really. I'm sure a lot of these people understand that there are lines not to cross. The fervent zealots who will run the top of the administration seem the most vile and dangerous, and will they motivate people down the chain of command to commit crimes against humanity? I'm sure they can attract some of the worst American citizens to join ICE and commit cruelty as if it is sport and a twisted duty. If Americans find out what they are doing it will be hell to pay, because I can't see them willing to stomach what these MAGAs are capable of doing.

Most people think of that you know which is why concentration camps immediately bring images of great horror and suffering.
I doubt many of the Jews arriving were even that healthy to begin with in light of the treatment they have been given by the Nazis.
But in sure you know that already.
From what I'm reading so far, it is not a concentration camp if people are concentrated there for deportation and were already unhealthy prior to arrival. It is not a concentration camp if it is used to house refugees, detainees, or illegal immigrants even if the facilities are poor, cramped and ill served.

It's what most people would call it. A deportation facility, or you could call it an out processing center , but radical left-wing people like to call it a 'concentration camp' because it sounds just so much more nefarious for their outlandish propaganda.
I think people call it a concentration due to the historical fact that what is being proposed will be a concentration camp. Watering it down and giving it a sugar coating won't change that. We've done it before, but we called them internment camps then.
Chitlins sounds so much nicer than eating large intestine, but it is still large intestine.

Originally The Nazis were going to send the Jews to the area of Russia that they didn't want for their own occupation. As the war in Russia stalled, and they had to manage millions of Jews, certain officials met in 1942 and discussed the "Final Solution". So the camps were ment as temporary holding centers until the Jews could be transported farther east, but became death camps. They did transport Jews to various camps for various reasons. The young and healthy could be used for slave labor. The old and young were often killed soon after arriving at death camps.
So what happens to all the migrants (called "illegals" by the far right, as if not human) if they can't be sent to their country of origin? How will people from El Salvador get there except by planes? What if those planes aren't allowed to land?
There are a lot of unknowns that could screw up the MAGA deportation agenda. What happens if they put thousands in these camps and they can't be deported due to issues with the other nations?
Not to worry, RFK jr will be in charge of the medical issues.

By people who didn't have much education in history. There were more concentration camps without gas chambers and mass graves than with.
