Rittenhouse. What an American Hero. Will Biden apologise?

Suave

Simulated character
In the first interaction, Grosskreutz was documenting the scene by recording video.

In the second interaction, Grosskreutz was coming to provide first aid to Huber after Rittenhouse shot him.

Unfortunately, Grosskreutz opted for armed confrontation against a perceived active shooter. I'm guessing he might have been peer pressured to stop Rittenhouse. I'd like to urge people to avoid armed confrontation, unless being cornered without retreat by an armed assailant. Flight or fight, choosing to flee is usually the best course of action.

He is innocent, because of the evidence.
Of the two videos which show he was the one being chased, so he was the victim.

It has nothing to do with why he was there, and it has nothing to do with politics, in my humble opinion.

He's not guilty of the crimes he was charged with. Courts don't find people 'innocent'.

I didn't read the comment that way, personally. I can see where some people are coming from when they point out that armed individuals like Rittenhouse were asked to be around by some business owners or the like.

Back in 2011 during the Egyptian Revolution, police presence on the street was quite scarce and insufficient to protect people and property from being attacked or looted by convicted felons who had escaped from prison during the turmoil. Civilians had no choice but to rely on vigilantism. Most didn't have firearms, but the concept of needing help from individuals who aren't in law enforcement to protect oneself or one's property is not novel or always unnecessary.

Yup...I locked myself inside an office building in Papua New Guinea because an armed (and drunk) individual had decided his anger at certain white bosses would be more easily sated on me (not much more than a kid) than the actual individuals he had an issue with.

It wasn't the cops I called, since they were corrupt, ineffective, and far away. It was a couple of men I knew had weapons and were willing to use them.

I think part of the disparity we are seeing now, though, is that we've never before viewed the US as a 'failing society' (whereas I certainly viewed PNG that way), but this type of breakdown in law and order is a sign of deep systemic issues.

(To be clear, I'm not talking about only this issue. All societies have moments of failure.)

When Chirafisi (oh...he is Italian like me...what a coincidence ;)) asks him whether he pointed his handgun before Rittenhouse fired...Grosskreutz responds "correct".

Btw... @9-10ths_Penguin I have saved so many frames about that video, including the moment when we see Grosskreutz trying to overwhelm Rittenhouse after Huber was shot. Shall I post them?

Kyle Rittenhouse recounts Kenosha riots, reacts to media portrayal of trial in first interview since acquittal

I just love the true spirit if the REAL American youth.

I mean, this guy is just incredibly well balanced and for his age he has the wisdom of a 50 year old, the brave heart of the 17 Yo men who fought in the World Wars and Vietnam, the compassion of Desmond T. Doss, and i think the law of fairness is imprinted on his conscience.

Damn are all those media anchors who condemned him as a white supremacist, a murderer, a militia, and all the other terrible stuff they said about him.
Damned are BLM, the QWERTY community, Antifa, and the organisations who defunded the police and refused assistance to the Citizens of Kenosha.
Damned are all the Democratic leaders who tried to influence the Judicial procedure, tried to lie about the truth, and wanted an inocent man jailed for life.

And what about Nadler, who still think he has the power to change righteousness into a political Judge and Jury to get an inocent man locked up. He is a fool indeed to deny the facts we all see during the trial.

Biden...
Remember how you lied to the American people about Kyle before all the facts were on the table?
Remember how you used an inocent man to get votes from criminal organisations?
I see he, Biden, is still flaming the fans of getting a young American hero defamed for his impecable character!

What nonsense!

There is only one way Biden can ask forgiveness to Kyle Rittenhouse for what he did...

Give him the Congressional medal of Honor.

This way all the Dem leaders, such as Nancy and her gang will shut the heck up!

Kyle Rittenhouse is pictured giving either a friendly O.K. hand gesture or a white power sign to known Proud Boy members. They are a right wing militia group consisting of many white supremacists, this according to the Anti Defamation League. Because Kyle Rittenhouse has associated himself with members belonging to a right wing militia group consisting of many white supremacists, perhaps we might not wish to consider a suspected racist or suspected white supremacist as being a hero.

Typically, I agree. Different states have different needs. I do think it becomes problematic when one states openness becomes an issue in another state that may be battling firearm violence. For instance, Illinois has pretty strict gun laws, but neighboring states like Indiana do not, and many guns are brought in through that route. Not sure what the answer is. It's likely more complicated than legislation, especially when you consider much of the gun violence in places like Chicago stem from drugs and the relationship with poverty. You know, systemic issues.
You do realize that if you are not a resident of the State you are legally purchasing the firearm in you must go through a Federal Fireamrs LIcensed (FFL) dealer.
In other words if I am a resident of State A and go to State B and purchase a firearm I must have the firearm shipped by a FFL of State B to a FFL in State A and I must conform to the laws of State B and the FFL in State B must conform to the laws of State A.
Therefore your Illinois Indiana is a moot point.
I don't know how many times I have had to point this out to a certain member of the forum who can't seem to understand the law.

So - as a for instance - you agree that it would be illegal for an Illinois resident to:

- buy a firearm in Wisconsin using a Wisconsin resident as a straw purchaser, and

- make arrangements for the straw purchaser to hand over the gun to the Illinois resident at a later date without going through a licensed firearm dealer.

... right?

I detect mischief in the connotation.
But if you intend such a generalization, that's fine...we just disagree.
(Disagreement is fun.)

I enjoy mischief but in this case the definition is really quite accurate.
Kill : to cause th death of a person or other living thing.

What makes you think so.
Off the top of my head:

- shockingly low levels of regulation of handguns
- large-capacity magazines are generally legal
- shockingly poor requirements for safe storage
- no firearm registries to speak of
- deadly force against someone not presenting a deadly threat is often legal (depending on the state)
- "stand your ground" laws (again, depending on the state)
- shockingly low requirements for training (again, varies by state)

I was just thinking Kyle should get a medal the other day. He performed a great public service by removing such criminal scum from our midsts, as well as showing great bravery and care for the community when others weren't. I hope he becomes very rich from the lawsuits, at least..
