School shootings are students' own problem, learning CPR the solution, says Santorum.

 Have to admit what Santorum said is stupid AF. And he's a lawyer to boot. If the kids are marching because it's important to them, then the adults should listen.
The only think that'll get Santorum listening is $$$$$$$$ and unlike the NRA, the Mercers and the Kochs the kids don't have enough.

They'll be fine. Just seal the exit wound with bubble gum.
Yes.
Edit: You know what? Cassie Cage's Bubblegum Fatality probably violates a rule somewhere. I think I'll just remove that.
Edit 2: Yup, that definitely qualifies as 'gratuitous violence.' Just google it if your interested.

“How am I going to do something about stopping bullying within my own community?

I think this is the more noteworthy quote because it’s the actual conservative solution— Walk up, not out!

They are telling the kids that school shootings are their fault. They didn’t befriend the loner kid. They didn’t stop bullying in the community.

If bullying caused school shootings, then why don’t we see them committed by any LGBQT kids, or people of color, or girls?

It also ignores the reality that we can do both. Is there any reason why we can’t learn CPR and be nice to the new kid and do something about unstable people obtaining mass-killing guns?

What? Me worry?
I think all high school students should be forced to learn CCR. But that won’t help with the gun problem.

I agree. CCR was definitely a major player in American Rock and Roll and they deserve the recognition. We actually do some CCR numbers in our set. "Green River", "Lodi", "Who'll Stop The Rain", and (of course) "Proud Mary" just to name a few.

He also says that, by imploring politicians to take legislative action, students are expecting others to solve "their" problems,
Exacty. What Senator Santorum is saying is children being shot and killed in school is not his problem, it is their problem.

(Politicians being shot during a softball game on the otherhand is everybody’s problem)

(Did I go to far with that last bit?)

well I love the statement except I have to take exception to the surprise that stupid and lawyer can go together.

I think most people would agree that there is something wrong with the culture nurtured in the public schooling system and the grade system. First of all, no matter whether a student keeps up with the learning or not they have to keep moving up in grades, even if they have not mastered the school material. There is a bell shaped curve and at one end of that bell shaped curve there is a group of students who feel they are wasting their time in school. They are not mastering material, not able to keep up, and they expect a lifetime of failure.

Rick Santorum to Student Activists: Don’t March, Learn CPR

Surely even most conservatives would agree that Santorum's statements are beyond imbecilic.

...right?

I wouldn't hold my breath. It's really teeing me off though the way many leaders and lawmakers in Pennsylvania are approaching this subject. They're poking fun at the kids in addition to not doing anything to help.

Almost like teasing them, or trying to somehow make it their problem to solve. IE: giving them rocks to throw at shooters.

Our kids deserve better from the adults that should reasonably at least consider their grievances.

Highlighting hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy never goes too far.

But anyway, what are your thoughts on the OP?

It's like they tried too hard to be edgy and over the top with the fatalities due to plain ol' decapitations not having the shock value that they used to.

Dude is spot on. I always liked him but he makes valid points and he is being snarky about the CPR reference. I don't give a damn about these worthless shells of children and people like me do not look to politicians to escape the child abuse or depression we have. No externality is reliable enough to help your livelihood.
When it comes to legislation, obviously we look to politicians because that's the damn job we've elected them to do. We should expect them to perform their responsibilities competently and ethically.
And to call children "worthless" for not wanting to get slaughtered within the halls of their schools and to suggest that they're responsible for their own survival when facing a spray of bullets? No one around here takes pretentious edgelords seriously. This isn't some lowbrow, lowest common denominator cesspit like 4chan.

Santorum was my pick over Trump and he only seems to be getting better as a potential candidate. What he needs to do is drop his gay bashing and get over the vices of mankind and its deviant sexuality.

He's an evangelist automaton. Take away that and there's nothing left but an empty husk.

There are some good ones, but they're all kind of the same. Remove arms, rip off head. Remove arms, cut in half. Kenshi's fatalities are really good, though. I love the 'My Puppet'.

Please tell me I'm not the only guy who keeps reading this person's name as 'sanatorium'. I mean he is definitely ill.

When I first glanced at the thread in the new threads sidebar, that's what I thought his name was.

I remember a few years back there was an attempt to create a new definition for the word “santorum”. I think the movement failed because the real Rick Santorum is so much more disgusting than the neologism they tried to make of his name.
