No, what distingishes rape is it being unconsensual.

domination control and force elements can very well be part of a sexual game between consenting adults.

Often times, part of the most fun sexual games. But I think she meant nonconsexual domination, force, and control, thereby making the nonconsensual aspect the primary distinguishing factor.

Hair splitting, and also not a very accurate portrayal of BDSM culture. A sub is very much in control. They can stop it at any time and usually specifically request a certain kind of experience.

When I say, KT, I want you to truss me up like a medieval ham and stick an apple in my mouth, and have your wicked way with me until I can't see straight, and then you do exactly that, where is the force? ;)

Of course it`s not hair spliting.

BDSM as you well say, when is done in a consenting way can make every participant be in complete control, even when one wants to play the "victim" or "dominated" one. Still, there are control and domination issues there, were they not they would not be playing that.

It`s like talking about violent videogames. They are not inherently bad for being violent if no one is getting actually hurt and there is a big difference between a gamer who is okay playing such game but would never do such things in real life and someone who would.

The game is still about violence, domination or what have you. The experience is still about violence domination or what have you.

The simplest way to differentiate rape from consensual sexs is, well, consent.

Anything other than that may or may not be rape.

Nerdy Answer: You'd have to tell me what the mass and acceleration are to figure it out.

Dumb Answer: Because I don't like to handle ham.

Trout Answer: Hold on, I'll be back in a couple of minutes.

And that mindset is why they rape, not sexual arousal.

A guy drops a pen.

Why did the pen fell on the floor?

-because gravity

-because he dropped it

-Because he was on top of floor instead of water.

-Because it had space to fell, had he droped it exactly ontop of the floor it wouldn`t have "fell"

-Because no object stopped it`s fall to the floor. Object like for example a table.

-It fell because the pen exists

-It fell because he lifted it

And so and so.

All of those are reasons for why the pen fell.

"Why" has many answers.

In the psychology of both people involved.

She feels like a dominatrix, he feels like a dominated (dont know the term for the dominated  pet? ) and it feels real. They are both aroused by this feelings and roles.

Just like where is the violence on a violent videogame.

But if the distinguishing factor is consent, then lets talk about it being the distinguishing factor.

Two adults can consensualy cede some control to the partner, like with sex with blindfold and handcuffs. You dont know what would happen until you feel it without your sight, and you need a degree of trust. Trust that the other wont misuse hir power.

At the same time though, you give up some of your power because it is exciting.

Consensually giving up some control isn't the same as not giving consent.

Perhaps (even though the correct answer in this case is gravity, since without it the others wouldnt apply :p). But the view that someone rapes due to being aroused ignores variables of the equation. The view that someone rapes due to their mindset doesnt.

Yes, it ignores the physical aspect.

a rapist mindset doesnt matter if you are a comma pacient :p

The thing is that if someone is a selfish SOB and wants sex with a wo/man and was not able to get it by seduction, he might rape if physically able.

For rape to happen there needs be :

motivation

opportunity

mentality

That`s the way I see it.

One final question. How could a rapist get it up if there was no sexual mentality going on?

viagra?

I make myself the same question for what comes to closeted famili men homosexuals.

Some sadists take sexual pleasure on the other person`s suffering, then again, that is still sexual gratification goal.

I think there is a sexual element to rape, but that it's far more complex than is being discussed here. I'm pretty sure that the sexual element is not the defining motive of rape, though. Although the science is still out on what really motivates people to rape, I think it's a pretty safe bet that it's not horniness alone.

Yes it would seem so then. Thanks for answering.
