Stuff Republicans say.

Amechania

Daimona of the Helpless
Ann Coulter, Rick Santorum, Sarah Palin, and the list goes on... why on Earth does the GOP keep these lunatics among their ranks? Seriously, who even needs enemies when your political allies are like that?

Maybe because alot of voters think the same way they do?

Donald Sterling Is a Registered Republican | Mother Jones

Even though he might appear to swing both ways, it seems
everyone is trying to pass him off to the other side.
Donald belongs right here in this thread. Looks like the RW media jumped the gun a little too soon at trying to associate a $3000 donation over 20 years ago with him being a democrat today. Like this guy would vote for a black president.

It just felt too odd that this guy would be a democrat. But as you can see with the RW propaganda, they want their audience to believe that. Woops!
This is what happens when they try to change the subject quickly away from the 'rancher'

But so many on the right will believe just about anything posted or stated on Fox or other right-wing sources-- a gullible lot are they.

That guy was thoroughly shady from the get-go. His son shot another guy and the police said that Donald was intimidating the investigators. He's been involved with a hooker. He's cheating on his wife with that current girl that's in the news. He racially discriminated against people in housing. Etc. Etc.

He's just a nasty person and should've been called out years ago.

David Barton: Women weren't allowed to vote in order to preserve the family
And you have to remember back then, husband and wife, I mean the two were considered one. That is the biblical precept. That is the way they looked at them in the civil community. That is a family that is voting and so the head of the family is traditionally considered to be the husband and even biblically still continues to be so ...

Now, as we've moved away from the family unit - you need to be independent from the family, don't be chained down and be a mother and don't be chained down and be a father and don't be chained down to your parents, you know, we've moved into more of a family anarchy kind of thing, the 'Modern Family' kind of portrayal - that understanding has gone away.

Clearly, what [the listener] has asked is a brilliant question because it does reveal that the bigotry we're told they held back then, they didn't hold and what they did was they put the family unit higher than the government unit and they tried to work hard to keep the family together. And, as we can show in two or three hundred studies since then, the more you weaken the family, the more it hurts the entire culture and society.

OK. In the "Democrats say thread". there is often defense of the democrat; because some conservative took a quote out of context, or the poster found a serious or important statement to be 'funny' or 'ridiculous'. And these are followed by conservatives trying to raise the lie of "well, democrats do say things just as stupid as conservatives, so they're all just the same.

So lay on then. Let the justifications and accusations of equivalency begin.
Defend this man. Or go back to prior posts and defend the conservatives. :sarcastic

Inspired by Draka's thread, I thought it might be fun to have one thread for collecting outrageous statements made by Republicans. And I don't mean the ramblings of the "man-on-the-street". I mean the intellectual lights of the Republican party: their leaders, elected representatives, associates, employees and professional advocates.

I will start:

These are from Rep. Jon Hubbard (R-Jonesboro Arkansas)

“… the institution of slavery that the black race has long believed to be an abomination upon its people may actually have been a blessing in disguise. The blacks who could endure those conditions and circumstances would someday be rewarded with citizenship in the greatest nation ever established upon the face of the Earth.”

“Wouldn’t life for blacks in America today be more enjoyable and successful if they would only learn to appreciate the value of a good education?”

“… will it ever become possible for black people in the United States of America to firmly establish themselves as inclusive and contributing members of society within this country?”

Arkansas Rep. Jon Hubbard: Slavery Was a Blessing For Black People | The Daily Dolt

Note: Yes, if you're one of those "the other guys are just as bad" wieners, you can post outrageous quotes by Democrats too, but please try to stick to real doozies. Don't just repeating "you didn't build that" out of context, like a broken record player. ;)

Those quotes are political and probably will only affect 10 percent. Republican misstatements that affect the other 90 percent are...

A minimum wage raise will cost thousands of jobs.

Our goal is to balance the budget.

The Democrats are holding us back.

The ACA is a failure

We could have prevented Benghazi.

It's all Obama's fault.

GOPer: We Must 'Divide And Conquer' People On Public Assistance (VIDEO)
"What we have to do is find a way to divide and conquer the people who are on assistance," Tillis said. "We have to show respect for that woman who has cerebral palsy and had no choice, in her condition, that needs help and that we should help. And we need to get those folks to look down at these people who choose to get into a condition that makes them dependent on the government and say at some point, ‘You’re on your own. We may end up taking care of those babies, but we’re not going to take care of you.’ And we’ve got to start having that serious discussion."
