Yes, and he is on video, I can understand why he left, but he did not stop to think it through. Video is almost ubiquitous today.

Really? Do you seriously think that that was not illegal? I probably could look it up for you, but first I would need you to state that you think that leaving such a scene is legal.

IMO if you walk into the right lawyers office and say "I just shot someone in self defense and need a lawyer", they probably would take you on the spot.
Or he may have a friend that is a lawyer he went to visit. Who knows.
Texas has a "stand your ground" law that permits the use of firearms under certain circumstances. Assuming the shooter thought he was justified to shoot the robber under the law, then he had not committed any crime. Therefore he could leave the scene at will. Anyone making the argument that he broke a law by leaving needs to address this.
Perhaps he did leave to go speak with his lawyer.

Hell even Rockstar knows how colossally idiotic the Wild West actually was. They made 2 highly successful games literally criticising the Wild West (whilst ironically using cowboy characters that became extremely popular among the fandom.)
