The Health Care Bill Passes!

Rev Rick said:
Second thing, no one that is dieing is being turned away from the hospital.
That's right, if you need a liver transplant, they won't turn you away from the hospital. If you can't pay, they might not do the transplant, and you might die, but they won't let you die in the street.

That's weird, if the doctors at the hospital agreed this girl needed the liver transplant why didn't they go ahead and do the transplant? Why did they need the insurer's permission? Oh. Because they have to get paid. They wouldn't do the transplant until they got paid. I guess it must be some consolation to her parents that their child wasn't turned away from the hospital, she was merely denied a life-saving operation.

So why didn't you answer the question?
Why the smoke and mirrors?

Why the attempt at to divert the question with a blatant non sequitur?

Get real, where did I say anything about the price of a life? Kat started that strawman and you pounced on it.

Why should any American who may be poor by our standards not help everyone elsewhere in the world?

No, Kat asked a question and you replied to it by refusing to answer it.

Your strawman has absolutely nothign to do with the 'cost of a life' question.
Your strawman is when you changed ER in the question to Hospital in your reply.

Nice try Rev, but you will need do better than that.

Why should any American who may be poor by our standards not help everyone elsewhere in the world?
WTF are you talking about here?
Another diversion tactic perhaps?

Ok, so by your standard, now that we have national health care, none of us are ever going to die ever right? Need a new knee, no problem. Bad heart, we can fix you up.

Bad liver? You can have a transplant and when you are better, we will even chip in a taxi ride to the pub.

Thanks to Barack Obama, we can all cheat death now right? There is no cap right?

We Americans should be able to live to be 150 years old or better now right?

What a great life! Live with mom and dad till age 27 and then work for 40 years and then live off the government for another 80-90 years.

Maoism Third-Worldism is actually pretty rad and I'd be all for it if there was any way to implement it. As it stands, baby steps. Let's fix what we can before we start working towards world-changing.

So, did you get it out of your system?
Or do you need a few more posts to cleanse the childish sarcasm from your system?

OK, show me where I said anything about a life being worth a dollar amount?

How much would you take for one of your children?

See how silly that is? Your not obligated to put a price on anything and neither am I.

I cannot imagine how anyone could do that, and I am insulted that you think I could.

So I take it you simply refuse to answer the question and instead of just flat out saying such you decided you would much rather try this melodramatic route?

We don't have national health care. We have more regulated, private health insurance. IF we had national health care people would die just as people die in building fires. The difference is I don't want to live in a society where people are left to burn in high-rises because they can't afford to pay the fire department.

No, we can never cheat death. Not sure what that proves.

I don't get it. First Republicans proudly insist that no one goes without health care in this country, then they say we can't provide health care to everyone because we can't afford it. Both are wrong, but it would be more consistent to at least pick one or the other.

So you believe anyone at any time can ask anything of anybody and they are required to spit out an answer?

I'm sorry, I could never put a dollar figure in us dollars for a life, not going to happen.

It was a pretty rude question and very insulting to be hounded for an answer.

Honestly, I could care less about the additional money for health care. This is not about money for me. It is the principle of the thing. I will fight socialism with every breath I have.

Actually, I rather enjoy seeing the babies have their bottles. It will be so fun to watch their reactions come election time.

Nope.
But go right ahead and believe whatever you like.

I'm sorry, I could never put a dollar figure in us dollars for a life, not going to happen.
See, that was not so hard, now was it?

It was a pretty rude question and very insulting to be hounded for an answer.
Hounded for an answer?
ROTFLMAO
Interesting how quickly you try being a martyr.

Socialism?
That's a reach even for you.

Interesting how fast you start to back peddle.

Will your first targets be museums, libraries, or parks?
