As I understand it, the refugees go through a vetting process that takes two years or more. CIA agents get less scrutiny.
Why are we such a fearful, paranoid people?
The day after the Paris attacks, France agreed to take in 30,000 new refugees. Which country is the land of the free and the home of the brave now?
Its the economy, "stupid", there's a shortage of jobs for illegal immigrants and they've been voluntarily going back south, more so than the new immigrants taking their place.

Using statistical methods you could estimate a loss or gain. I am not sure if that is what is being referred to, but it could be done with a reasonable level of uncertainty.

That and the inconvenient truth about statistics, one can always massage the data to reflect virtually any given conclusion. Nothing simpler, really.

We'd have to actually be able to examine the study to determine if someone is "hacking" the data. But comparing differences in populations is a common use of statistics and it could easily be used to make such an assessment; even in an honest manner.
