Aye, there are many antique engine & tractor guys in Australiastan.
One guy, a dairy farmer from the SE part, has even come to our show a couple times.

My local mechanic restores old steam boats, not huge paddle wheel ones, smaller type ones. Somewhere I have pictures of him testing one out but due to my chaotic storage system they are currently MIA.

Today I arranged for the gathering of machine tools from a shop started
in 1873 up in Massachusetts. It's been a multi-year project to arrange this.
I hired a friend to bring them from some collectors in San Diego. He
tried to get away with charging me $1200. I renegotiated $2000.
It's a 2300 mile drive!
I'll store them until the museum erects a new machine shop building.
Then we'll recreate the original layout with the original tools. I also have
other machines which belong there....some really significant stuff.

I use to live in Massachusetts.....but I got there much later than 1873

You know, Stevicus, that normal guy who kind of quietly laughs at our bizarre posting, but doesn't really express said laughter so as not to hurt feelings.

(I'm making this up as I go along.)
