You you poor human.
To be "meh" about food is to miss out
on one of life's greatest pleasures.

I'm a picky eater these days, but it has lost me some weight. I even like raw veggies & a lot of steamed foods.

However, for me, burgers, pizza, frozen foods, etc, are more a liability than anything. They take up grocery store space that could be used on healthier foods.

When you have steamed veggies, do
you season them with extra bland?

Oh, you food snobs!
All food is "stolen" from someone, eg, zhang
bang (Korean) is from China, all those noodles
in Italy (from China). Each culture adopts &
adapts as they want.
Sometimes the source is just lost to history.
Where something appeared to originate
doesn't mean that's the only way that food
can be prepared.
What matters is enjoying what's available.
So if Tex Mex or BBQ become popular in
Froggistan, they'll adapt it in their way, &
it might even be good.
Enjoyment is more important than authentic.

BTW, I heard a podcast on my last trip that
addressed French food. What it is not isn''t
what it was not so long ago.

And?

In addition

Chinese Scallion Pancake existed before Pizza and Marco Polo would have seen it..

So, what exactly is the "Origin" of pizza?

Also how many cultures around the planet have some sort of meatball.... so...where did that originate?

Oh and I should have added...food origins can be tricky..... many claim to be the first and if they are European origns it is geneally take as fact....much like Gutenberg inventing the first printing press in the 1400s..... yet China had automated Wood Block printing in the 9th centiry and Korea had movable metal type 100 years before Gutenberg

Does that mean one influenced the other...not necessarily...cold be the same with food too.... see the meatball.

But as I say many times in such discussions, if Gottfried Leibniz and Issac Newton can come up with Calculus at the same time, miles apart..... why can't the same be said for food

And they make it badly too...

But Italy and China had trade as early as the 2nd century BCE...Silk road...so did pizza develop independently?

Ok no, the nicest pizzas are from Naples.

Independently? Doubtful
