The masked truth....

The individual is powerless, hopeless, and exhausted by the boundless stupidity of greed run amok. And it runs amok because we believe greed is a virtue in this country. So we reward it and admire it in every way. As our society falls into an abyss of self-destructive delusion. Who here doesn't believe that it's "just good business" to exploit every advantage to maximize your own profit?
Edited: Out of curiosity, are you genuinely interested in discussing your perspectives? It would be good to know for those observing.

Slight improvement offered for your consideration.

We all are. Because greed cannot be satiated. It never gets enough, and it's always trying to fulfill itself at someone else's (everyone else's) expense. It's exhausting having to compete against everyone around us just to get what we need to survive, and then fighting off everyone else just to hold onto it. Greed makes everyone our enemy: out to exploit us for whatever they can get for themselves, every time, all the time. And yet we Americans think this is just a fantastic way to live. We blame the exploited "losers" in this struggle for being weak, and stupid. We praise the exploiting "winners" for being so clever and strong, ... and rich. We want to be like them. It's a culture based on social-destruction through selfishness. But we never see this. We just keep on praising that greed, and exploiting our neighbors whenever we can, for as much as we can get.

We vote for known criminals, and zealots, and liars and cheats, because we think they'll lie and cheat and steal on our behalf. They'll help us get what WE want. And that's all that matters to us. Not how their behavior will effect others. Other people are irrelevant. They are our competitors. Our enemies. Capitalism is warfare, and if you're not winning, you're dying, and you don't matter.

Are there good qualities about yourself or are you like those you have mentioned?

You personally. We-means you as well...but I'm asking directly.

If masks work, and assuming your mask is working, what difference does it make if I wear a mask or not?

Because you might be asymptomatic, having the virus and not aware of it, for two weeks or more.

During that time you would be a super-spreader if you went around exhaling your aerosolized respiratory droplets without a face covering.

When we BOTH wear a face covering, I protect you, and you protect me.

When we all wear a face covering, we reduce the viral load.

Viral Load:

exposure in small doses is generally much more safe than exposure in large doses. Getting a few (or even several hundred) virus particles in contact with cells in your respiratory tract can often be dealt with by your body without previous immunity. It's only when your body is hit with big numbers that it becomes overwhelmed. And both sides of an interaction between people, infected or not, are protected to some extent from large dose exposure by the masks on both sides.

I get a kick out of this video.

Watch for the big dude on the beach cruiser bike at the end, 4:25.

He gets off the bike and is ready to fight over the issue.

People are on the edge.

I put it on full screen.

On a PC use the shortcut keys for Youtube.

But you don't see that on CNN, Fox, MSNBC; etc. What do you see instead? A perpetual stream of horrible things and examples of the worst that America has to offer. Sure, she makes her fair share of mistakes and no government is without corruption, but I will say that America gets harshly criticized. Some of it is earned, but some of it isn't.

I guess it depends on who you watch.

Excepting Fox, the networks showed many scenes of peaceful protests. Glancing at Fox, as I occasionally do, I just saw coverage of the looting and burning.

This morning CBS did an extensive segment on John Lewis.

The Repubs sell fear. Remember Willie Horton? Trump's ads now are busy signals when dialing 911 due to the defund the police sentiment (from a small segment of Democrats).

The mainstream networks are covering the ICU shortages, the increased positives, and deaths. In my occasional glances at Fox, they are more concerned with the right to not wear masks and schools not reopening. The latter just shows their hypocrisy, because they are big supporters of home-schooling.

Wow! Just freakin' wow!

All the brains in the United States appear to have been siphoned off by space zombies or something.

Here's a question for anybody they actually missed: do you think these sorts of behaviors, and the new restrictions on reopening of California, have anything in common? C'mon, try, it's not a hard question...

What saddens me most about watching some of the videos posted by @Dave Watchman above, is how many people are speaking as if they learned their lessons directly from Donnie Trump, which I think is probably partly true. When they say things like "it's (the coronavirus, or wearing a mask) fake news," they are parrotting the Twit-in-Chief. He is actively working at making your nation more stupid -- and he is succeeding.

Is that really what y'all want? Truly?

I just burst out laughing a few seconds in, when this woman says she won't wear a mask because "it's not healthy to breathe your own carbon monoxide".

But maybe that's only funny if you're a chemist. :D

I don't know what's going on man, but I have a hunch.

This deal is bigger than Trump.

Where I am is up in the sticks of Canada.

200 KM north of Toronto in Minden a 73 year old man goes into a country Valu Mart Grocery store.

Masks are mandatory.

He's not wearing one.

They call the cops.

The Ontario Provincial Police follow him to his rural home.

He ends up shot dead on his front porch.

The cashier at the store's like: "'If we didn't have to force him and ... tell him that he couldn't come into the store, nothing would have happened really. He would have got his groceries and went along with his day.'
