The Qur'an allows sex-slaves...!?

Your source is a silly one, it says from the start " Only children of slaves or non-Muslim prisoners of war could become slaves, never a freeborn Muslim"
How a slave can have children while they're slaves, also how only non-muslim prisoners could become slaves while the same source says
"a Muslim slave is equal to a Muslim freeman in religious issues and superior to the free non-Muslim"
Slaves could certainly have children. A male and female slave are certainly capable of reproducing. Did you need a diagram? ;-)

Only a non-Muslim could become a slave, but a slave could convert and become a Muslim slave. This, too, you couldn't figure out? Speaking of silly...

There is only one widely accepted English translation of the Koran that I know of, the King Fahd Saudi edition, and as far as I know it is not available online so no one ever quotes it.

Have you read this edition (which for all we know is nothing more than the same translation prefaced with a foreword by the Saudi king)?

Oh my God, I must leave this thread immediately, or my view of the peoples in question will be forever bigoted.

If the boss uses the slave for his own pleasure then how he let her to marry another slave.
How a slave can be free and choose to marry.

Were there born-muslims in the time of Muhammad, are you kidding or lack something?

It isn't a question of a boss using a slave. A male slave and a female slave could sire children. Got it?

Not at the time of Mohamed, later. Later Muslims could have enslaved a non-Muslim who later converted to Islam, who was then a Muslim slave. Got it now?

How long was Muhammad a prophet for again? He apparently began preaching in 613 AD (I'm pulling this off of Wikipedia so if you can give a Muslim source that contradicts or confirms this that then fair enough) and gained his first followers soon after. He then stayed in Mecca for almost 10 years until 622 when the Hira occurred. During this near-decade (not to mention the time after that), do you think Muhammad's followers were all sitting around remaining celibate for the duration?

Yes, there would have been born-Muslims in Muhammad's time.

Really, how the castrated slaves did it? educate yourself please.

All were new to Islam, 50 years later won't make a difference, they weren't as stupid as today to treat a born Muslim differently.
The prophet taught them that no one is superior over the other except for their good deeds.

Who said the male slaves were castrated? And even then couldn't the female who was captured have been pregnant at the time of capture? Or did you not think of that possibility?

The bottom line is a slave could give birth.

Please educate yourself, indeed. Pot calling the kettle black.

I didn't say a born Muslim. I said a born non-Muslim slave that then converted. Re-read what I wrote or increase your understanding, it is lacking.

You've crossed the line into the territory of personal attacks, remember attack the posting but not the person. Those are the rules.

A muslim is treated equally, there's no such a thing as a non-Muslim who accepted Islam and the born Muslim, so in short
a Muslim slave(maid) is still the same SLAVE = a maid , so the article is stupid from the start but you only like
it because it says something bad about Islam.

Rubbish. Islam in Indonesia is still a new fad as these things go and that was long after slavery had begun to be frowned on by most of the civilized world.
It probably isn't a fashion there simply because they know how the rest of the world would react.

Islam spread to Indonesia in the mid-19th C? The 'civilised world' was pretty keen on slavery in Indonesia until this point.

And Indonesians secretly harbour a desire to harvest slaves but don't in case the white man will go 'tsk tsk' and glance disapprovingly at them?

Indonesia had a history of slavery, same as any other. Both indigenous and colonial. The Dutch/VOC were particularly prolific in the 17th-19thth C, and the Japanese in the WW2 era.

Anyway, there is actually quite a lot of slavery, but of the same kind that exists in Thailand, or Holland, or India, or Russia. It is criminal and for financial gain, rather than something religiously motivated.

I think 0ne means emancipating all the slaves in Muhammad's time would have caused more problems than it solved - problems to do with where would these newly freed people live? What jobs would they have? Who would pay them? etc

Of course it fails to address the fact that if they had wanted to. The Muslims could have focussed their efforts on social reform, building new homes in anticipation of the whole pool of new free men, women & children who were about to become full citizens of whichever city they lived in. But no, they chose to subjugate & forcefully convert Arabs including the city of Ta'if, then to spread Islam by invading other powers instead.

Priorities...

How do you determine it's better than the Ali or any other translation? What grounds do you use for deciding that?

I mean Ali wasn't an official scholar but he spoke both English and Arabic fluently. What can you bring to the table that would make non-Muslims take your opinion more seriously than that of a man who actually got his translation published?
