The Qur'an allows sex-slaves...!?

Islam sure took the initiative.
Please, do try to be serious. Neither Islam nor Muslims took the initiative to abolish slavery.... largely due to the fact that Muhammad himself took slaves.... so, in Islamic terms, there is nothing wrong with the practice.

Oh, come now, firedragon. It's not like Muslims led the world in abolishing slavery.

I never said that. I dont really care who abolished slavery first. I dont care a damn about the Saudis and their tyrannical cra;p. I dont give a **** about the Dubai Arabs and their child slavery. I am banned from entering some countries because I have written about it. And you would be surprised to know how many Islamic scholars also are against slavery and agree with the blatant Quranic injunctions against it. We expose the Ullamas bias bullshi(t that they invented. We are the ones who get arrested for this.

I dont give a rats *** about this. But I am not gonna stop exposing interpolations in Quranic translations even if the sky falls on my head.

Nevertheless my biggest problem is not that. Why is your avatar YmirGF? I cant help but think that it looks like Why my Girl Friend.

I don't understand what you are asking here. I was simply using the word "fashion" as a figure of speech synonymous with "custom".
I hear the whole 'white cloth around your middle' is very chic right now.

The Ottomans surely didn't do a good job of that initiative then, did they?

I would rather focus on what islam teaches rather than getting into such pointless debates of who did what. The Quraan is there to take a look into what Islam teaches about slavery. I replied to the thread and thought my reply would be more analyzed if I created a thread.

It's a long story, but the condensed version is that I used to run a Guild of merry players in the original Diablo days. God, that was so long ago now.

Membership in the guild required one to add "GF" which stood for (The House of the) Golden Falcon to their names or online handle. I was known so long as YmirGF that I simply kept using it all these years later. I should upload the story I wrote about it sometime. It's quite funny.

Which English translation of the Qur'an do you use? For debating with English people? Because all you're saying is 'your translation is wrong'. Is every English translation of the Qur'an wrong, by God?!?!

What right hand possess does not mean slaves. It means who is promised to you, under oath, engaged, to you.

What on earth does that mean? And how come no translation I've come across says anything like that? And why should I believe you over a published translation?

Yes, every translation of Qur'an is (basically) wrong & it has nothing to do with Allah. Allah gave Qur'an in Arabic and it should only be studied in Arabic. Translations are just to "get the message" not for serious analysis. :D What exact verse are we talking about? Also, is Penguin Classics version approved translation?

Except it didn't. In order to show your piety by freeing slaves you need to own slaves or buy slaves so you can free them. Abolishing (outlawing) slavery outright would make this impossible.

Not that I want to repeat myself, but if I told you to solve your problems, that does not mean that you should create a problem if you don't have one so you can solve it and follow what I said. It only means that if you have a problem, you should solve it.

Fair enough, though it appears the koran does permit slavery hence all the activity in this thread, would you mind linking me to your thread so I can join in later on? :)

Fair enough. Out of curiosity is there any nation currently in existence which meets your criteria here?

@FearGod Fair enough, we will simply have to agree to disagree as Rival's koran did indeed permit slaves.

THANK YOU! :D:D:D

Now I can go get my first cup of coffee of the morning..... then, I'll be awake. :)

Okay, I got your point.

Let me rephrase. Where does slavery exist in this modern world? Okay, what country has slavery? What so called Muslim country!

And FYI, I am having my tea with ginger at 8PM.

A valiant effort, but not terribly impressive. Points for trying hard though!

Respect that you only wanted to state your opinion and not talk about the points mentioned.

At least thank you for taking the time to read it.

I bloody love Diablo. You serious? But never a heavy gamer. I mean, wasnt so good.

You should upload the story. Would be interesting. And now that this Girl Friend thing is solved its a bit relieving.

Thank you for your response.

I already had the thread as the comment here, but I noticed many members engaging in this thread didn't read it so I posted it as a thread. You can reply here or there, my intention was only that members will read it and discuss.

Here is the reply on this thread: http://www.religiousforums.com/threads/the-quran-allows-sex-slaves.187799/page-4#post-4768625

and here is my thread http://www.religiousforums.com/thre...t-people-claim-islam-supports-slavery.187807/

They are essentially the same, and I will be engaged in the discussion here and there. Thankss

Which further highlights the folly in a creator trying to spread its message to humanity using human language, which is entirely dependent on subjective human interpretation; though that is for another thread.

We need @Debater Slayer in here to help us translate. :D

No nation anywhere I can say. But we can try something. To make any kind of small change.

What would this country look like? Imagine it in your head and describe it to us. :)

Then we shall wait! I will send a transport ship to his location in seven days; he will be summoned for duty. :p
