Moved to the school district we are currently in because the one we were in went downhill fast. Did not want to put the youngest through it and the move was real good for the oldest too, but he was in a private school already due to the school system (Violence and drugs were on the rise). I am not a fan of private schools, fought with his more than once and the work load there was heavy, but I have to tell you, I am considering private school for the youngest..... .The oldest work load in private high school was less than what the youngest is required to do now and she is not in high school yet

The youngest is incredibly conscientious of her grades and is doing well, but the amount of homework they pile on these kids, the size of the pack they all have to carry because the schedule is so tight is absolutely ridiculous, And she is having more and more issues with stress and frustration.

Come home, do homework until 11:00pm, get up do more homework, pile it all in a pack that would make the average infantry man wince and go to school...repeat. She is not able to get enough sleep and has no time for anything else. She does not even have time to get to the bathroom during school due to the distance between classes and the time allotted to get from class to class.

Require orchestra, have chamber, miss an outside private music lesson (specifically the Viola, because the piano lessons don't count as far as her orchestra teacher is concerned) she is now required to have a lesson with the school music teacher, who frankly is not going to teach her anything that is going to help her at all, and give no time to be in any outside activities...can't play in a considerably better orchestra, even though they keep asking her to return, can't get to her martial arts class, can't go places on the weekend, no time to be a kid all because there is just way to much homework.....

Enough of my ranting.....I'm just frustrated I guess

Today I get to go on a document hunt that spans two schools, two counties, searching through my car's glove box to go through all that important paper work that is rarely used, and I have to find my Associate's degree (I'm actually not sure if I have to bring my actual diploma's to my HR meeting tomorrow) which I'm pretty sure my mom has (my Bachelor's being the higher, is in my box of important documents and a few keep-sake trinkets). I also have an endocrinologist appointment 70 miles away, so I'm going to have quite the busy day today.
