I don't know what I'm going to get my dad for Christmas. Not sure about my mom either. I hate the pressure to buy gifts on Christmas. Normally I make art stuff for people, but I'm short on time this year to think of stuff to make and make it. And I'd feel terribly cheap and unthoughtful getting things like candles or jewelry.

Turns out I got my dad a sound amplifier, my mom a $30 dollar candle (which had a "buy 1 get one for $1" sale so I also got me a $30 dollar candle), and for both of them a gift card to the movies.

Though I enjoy the prospect of working from home, as I'm about to do and because it means I can work in real and comfy clothes and listen to music that would probably give most people at the office a heart attack over the lyrical content, it's still like "eewwww.....I'm still doing homework."

I don't see myself burnt out on those who will by my clients, and but I see myself getting extremely burnout on those I with with. They've not even "had that talk" when it comes to addressing non-theists on the strengths/weaknesses on the "religious/spiritual" part of the assessment. For the most, they are hideously boring and dull and bland. The word "sacrilegious" was even used before calling something other than the Bible "your Bible" is not an appropriate or suitable as a adjective in that case. However, the Puscifer song Rev 22:20, now that is straight A+ delightfully sacrilegious (look up the passage to get a quick taste).
And, a big problem, is they aren't experiencing care from the "other side." But I had a good reality check tonight when getting to hang out with some friends (going on two weeks I haven't seen any of them with the LARP last weekend), I was quickly reminded that not only have I been on that "other side," I have the same complaints as everyone else, and that's that they suck. They are the ones who had the dumb **** advance-practice nurse who tried to say I'm psychotic. They are the place that I wasted a bunch of time, except now I know the "proper words" to describe it in their lingo.
Insurance also sucks because "treatment" quality bends the knee to insurance and profit so much that treatment quality revolves around it and the guy who is pretty high up, his presentation was pretty much a spiel about how he's going to make you loyal to the company, dashing it up with cutesy stories and words people like seeing, even getting a bit preachy when he said religion is a strength when he asked why is it on there, and answering himself by saying it is. Since his was the last presentation for the day, I wanted to leave, because his motivational speech was aimed at us making money. And that making money, it isn't the government standing between a patient and doctor/clinician, it's ****ing insurance.
The system is utterly full of s*** to be sure. But you are in a great place to work with people who you truly understand because you've been there and know how they feel and what problems they face.

I'd probably end up shattering and completely destroying their mold if I gave fitting in an effort. And then I wouldn't be me, and that would suck. So I'll just stick to my blasphemous music, bawdy jokes and comments, and doing things that would make them think "oh my god!!!" and blow some head gaskets. I could make it fun for me though, and point out for all the Jesus this and Bible that, they are the one's saying "those people" to refer to clients and "like us" to refer to ourselves, yet this "devil worshiper" is the one who freely associates with and befriends "those people" and wouldn't think of calling them "those people" because they are my people.
You sound like what Jesus is reported to have been like - associating with "those people" and treating them like "us people".

The woes of technology. I've got about another hour though and I'm done for the day. I'd have more done if Citrix wasn't hiccuping and thefing everything up for me.

According to my training today, I've been very traumatized, nastily abused, some things I find to be strengths aren't really strengths, my "not optimistic but not pessimistic" outlook that always accepts the possibility of disaster isn't good, and I've been through some ****. Good thing I'm very reliant.

Powershell doesn't let you parse the output of get-help....does it. You have to handle the objects indirectly and sort of not use the data that is put on screen, because you're not allowed. Its sort of like being kenneled, except that there's no food. Is that about right?

I understand that my sense of humor is warped way out of proportion. But, it keeps me alive and what is wrong with that?

Suppose you want to use get-help in powershell to lookup any cmdlets that have something to do with the word 'link' and then parse the output to see which lines contain the word 'file'.

PS> powershell -outputformat text -command {get-help link} | Select-String -pattern "files"

As a bash person, I just couldn't function if I didn't know how to parse the output of a command.

That is new!
Maybe in the conventional sense, but these mushrooms don't taste that well are often ate with peanut butter. One recipe I heard that I'd love to try is "candy-ing" the peanut butter with powdered sugar (think reeses cups consistency), mixing the mushrooms in, and forming it into balls that are dipped in chocolate. Eat, and enjoy. :D
