I really feel bad for you. One of my cats is about 15 years old and I know he'll be gone too soon. :(
Thank you. It is this dreadful feeling that anytime I take him to the vet now I could be coming home without him. Or I'll wake up one morning and find him gone. My kids will be heartbroken too. He's the one cat we have that will actually lay with them, get on their beds with them, curl up on their laps. They adore him. Especially my daughter. And she was the one to originally find him on the floor.

I think my kitty is close to dying. :( Just got back from rushing him to vet a while ago. Found him on floor, next to puddle of pee, mouth open, little gasps for air, not responding. Got him to respond while transporting him to vet. Belly filled with fluid. Temp too cold. Lost weight. Poor baby is curled up in warm blanket with watered down pate cat food in a bowl next to him. I just don't think he has much longer.
That's terrible.:( *hugs*

It's kinda weird. I recently got my Bachelors degree and had plans to go for a Masters program, but a part of me always kinda wanted to be a house husband.

Work part-time somewhere, take care of the kids (and by "kids", I mean cats :p ), and wait for the husbear to come home.

I think I might be a 1950's stereotype in the making.

I mean all the Treks before Abrams transformed version, which changed, basically, what Star Trek was all about: Into yet another mindless, action-filled movie with no real plot.
This is the main reason I hate the new Star Trek. It's not an action filled series that exists for nothing more than mental masturbation, yet this is the direction the last two movies took. It wasn't made to appeal to the masses, and it really needs to go back to its roots.
Doing that definitely justifies making it an action film and also splitting the time line.
Star Trek isn't an action flick though. That's one of the things that has always separated it from the rest. Strong character development, plot driven stories, and heavy saturation with philosophy and classic culture are the things that made Star Trek appealing. JJ Abrams made it into a dumbed down no-different-than-any-other-action-flick borefest. It was made for people who read, think, and have appreciation for things that normal TV doesn't bother with because it's not as marketable. Star Trek even originally pushed the boundaries of sexuality (even the first interracial kiss on TV), but in an honest way that approached sexuality in a healthy and positive manner (even Rikers was more than just an insatiable horn-dog perv), and JJ Abrams was only able to give us a "freak" of a Kirk who was just in bed with two alien women. JJ Abrams made it take a huge step back (several of them actually) by not featuring multiple female roles who are equal in value to the crew as the men are. And if you expect themes of philosophy and references to high culture, as you would be in the right to expect given it is a part of the Star Trek franchise, you will be sorely disappointing because they aren't there. There is no room for winning your battles without fighting and impressing the local by quoting the Art of War when there is too much action to even think about winning by not fighting and absolutely no time to discuss literature.

Even though this member has never mentioned it (that I'm aware of), I've wondered if one certain member has Asperger's syndrome due to some of the posts given here by this member. Not that it makes any difference, but it's crossed my mind a few times.

I was never diagnosed, but I've wondered too.

I rent. I don't think I'd be burying anything in our yard. Don't know what I'll do actually.
Having lost a number of wonderful kitties and dogs over the years, I know from first hand what you're going through and you and your kitty are in my prayers.

Thank you.

It's been almost 3 hours since we got back home and he's still in the box I transported him in. Hasn't been out of it since I put him in it off the floor. He doesn't seem in pain, just tired, no energy.

Here's hoping he bounces back after sleeping off the trauma.

Sorry to know, ma'am.

This is one major reason I don't keep pets :(

They chopped a section out of my skull, okay? There were bound to be some minor behavioural changes. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to cleaning the toilet with my hair.

And I thought Revoltingest had the toilet cleaning monopoly on RF.
