He'd have to be making that movement 6 times as fast as a normal human and with perfect precision in order to achieve that effect without camera tricks. 3 shadows. Each additional depth of shadow would require an additional pass. So 1 + 2 + 3 passes to create the translucent hands, and to keep the hands invisible he might have to do the whole thing at 2 or 3 times that rate...so 12 times or 18 times as fast as a human. And then! And then he'd have to hold his pecs still the whole time!
He must be a Buddhist.
