You seem like one of those Section 31 types.

No, but even if I was, consider that Section 31 was radically altered when its former leader was transported back to the 20th century as the Angel of Death, but eventually fell under the command of Bill and Ted.

We the People of the United Sates, decide to tear apart the Union, pervert Justice, destroy domestic Tranqulity, provide for the common defense, promote welfare for the rich and powerful, and secure the Blessings of White Nationalist Male Fundamentalist Christianity to ourselves and our Posterity...

Signed the people of yesteryears. Today it's goal is a divided Union built like a cheap, mass manufactured Roman facade.
The issue is all the freaking "Interpretation" they do to subvert the Constitution to justify their political ridiculousness and agendas on both sides of the aisle.... and that is a far down this political rabbit hole I will go

Road trip. Flew into Atlanta, hired a car, drove to New Orleans, then to Los Angeles for the plane home
I hate driving around Hotlanta. Bad traffic.
I know many who love new Orleans.
But I also heard it described as a "high crime drainage ditch".
I've been thru that area, ie, TX to CA. Even lived in LA CA briefly.
Some good snowboarding, good food, good sights to see,
bad cops to avoid, & interesting locals. Even LA has its charm
here & there....tamales from the roach coach were a treat.

Never been to New Orleans or Texas, have considered Texas, have no desire to go to New Orleans....been to California, liked Santa Monica much better than LA, liked San Diego, really like Newport Bach...did not like San Francisco, but did like Miur Wood.

But what I really wanted to post in response was

Who asked, ya....who cares, go away, shut yer pie hole, we don't like your kind in these here parts....

Been to TX for work (engineer) & to haul antique engines.
Been to AZ for Grand Canyon & snowboarding.
Been all over CA. I lived in W LA (Brentwood), & would run
up in the Santa Monica mountains. (I was in shape then.)
I once ran past the Beverly Hillbillies mansion...which is
actually in Bel Air. I commuted down to Hawthorne
where Northrop once was. Traffic...ugh....even in the 70s.
I ran in the Palos Verdes Marathon. One of my knees
disagreed with this choice, but it forgave me.

We have friends in Atlanta so it was a visit to the suburbs missing much of the traffic. The first half of the drive was terrifying. I felt like i had a big sign saying atheist, shoot here and an arrow pointing to a target on my tee shirt. And most of those people carried guns.

New Orleans was superb, just as expected. No crime to report

I've never had trouble as an in-your-face atheist anywhere
in USA, including the deep south. Perhaps my winning
personality saves me, eh.
People who carry guns don't scare me. It's actually rare
that I ever see any civilian's gun in public. (I can't even
remember the last time.) Did you see many openly
carried guns in your travels (excluding cops)?

Rifles strapped to rear windows of trucks. Just a couple of handguns

I prolly wouldn't even notice a rifle in a truck rear window.
So you've actually seen more civilians sporting handguns
in public than I have....other than at venues catering to
gun owners. How weird. Your heightened sensitivity to
guns would make you more likely to see & remember them.

Note:
To "see" is about perception, not about something actually
being in one's field of vision. (I wanted to say that before
@mikkel_the_dane chastises me.)

How you avoid that but not me? Especially when I was a neo-Pagan people didn't like my response when asked.

I've known many who are so scared they won't leave home without a gun. My ex's brother in law is one such person, and it unnerved her Dutch stepfather to see a gun at someone's side during a family dinner. My dad is another, and pretty much any job I've had he's insisted I need one and told me to get one and start carrying it.

Well, there are 2 relevant definitions of see.
-perceive with the eyes; discern visually.
-discern or deduce after reflection or from information; understand.

So you can see a gun and you can see 2+2=4 is true. But is not the same definitions, so yes, definitions matter and sometimes it matters that there are several for the same word. Go figure.

There's different kinds of gun carriers and whether or not I worry about it depends on who's got the gun. I've seen enough in my day.

Overall, I prefer when they're not around.

Must be my relatively sophisticated people skills.

I know many many gun owners & licensed carriers.
But the only one I know who is "scared" doesn't
carry his. This is good. Frightened people aren't
suitable for carrying guns. Are you thinking of
cops too? "Officer safety! <bang> <bang>, etc"
