Where I live, recycling is mandated by law. Every villa and apartment complex has recycling bins to the side or behind them. These are some of the bins at the back and to the side of the villa where I live. In the first photo, you see the bin where recyclable paper and cardboard goes (it is labelled 'Scrap Metal,' but it is used for paper/cardboard). There is always a tenant or somebody who places unrecyclable material inside. In the second photo, you see the bin where plastic goes. Many tenants refuse to put their plastics in neatly. Some of the tenants (or maybe it's just one or perhaps a passerby) don't bother washing out their plastics. Somebody drops PET bottles in the bin when the bin just to the right of it is exclusively for PET bottles. Most of the tenants, by the way, are in their 20s. *Sigh*

I can't get LeeAnder to stop throwing his cans into the garbage bin, even though the recycling bin is right next to it.

Trying to positively influence kids can be challenging sometimes. I quickly got my students to stop slamming the classroom doors, but I can't get them to stop leaning their chairs onto their two back legs.

Is it possible and worth it save those cans to go to a scrap yard for money?
Probably not.

We took in a whole truck worth of metal awhile back. We got 9 dollars.

Iowa got rid of its can redemption, from what I understand.

This week's challenge for me has been road safety.

Don't lay in the street. Don't run off with a wagon, not looking where you're going. Don't open the door of the car when you're going down the highway.

A guy in school (noty class) did that, he rocked back and forth. One day he tipped back too far and couldn't get ballance. Cracked his skull on the desk behind.

I understand that cured him.
