The reasons why Islamic women wear the Veil

Every person has desires and feelings whether they were men or women.

And yet only women have to be fully covered and men do not.

You have yet to explain how this is anything but blatant misogyny.

I understand these are your cultures attitudes. But that does not mean you have to defend them.

You can be better than your forebearers.

You can treat women with the respect and dignity they deserve.

You can give women the basic freedoms to wear what they like (i am pretty sure they will not go prancing around in a bikini as soon as the rules are loosened)

I challenge you to put yourself in their shoes and then tell me it is ok.

I challenge you to have empathy for your fellow human beings.

Peace be upon you.

The problem isn't that women look attractive, it's that men feel they have to control them to begin with.

Sometimes it is the womens that are showing too much. But I do agree on your statement that men should control themselves.

And I challenge you when you meet couple of women wearing hijab to ask them why they are doing it.

If you guys think that people here would kill a woman if she is not wearing a Hijab than you are wrong. At least in my area. And the act is also itself wrong.

Women are the ones who get sexual abused and sexual harresment not men

The Old Testament Law, which Christians don't follow!

Like I said, you really need to stop trying to tell me what Christians are supposed to believe. It's very rude.

I have seen many christians who agree on that. It is not a rocket science for me.

Bit I am not surprised because every christian is a unique person in the concept of beliefs

If the chance ever comes up i will.

Obviously you live in a far more tolerant part of the world.

But that does not mean it does not happen else where.

In your area what would happen if they did go out uncovered?

What would happen if they did go out unescorted?

Not a valid excuse to take away their basic human rights and not an explanation for why you are trying to justify these actions.

Nothing happens. There are the ISIS group right now taking action,, but based on what? They have nothing to do with Islam ( as far as I know about them).

They even reached the area which I am living in and no single muslim living here supports them.

I agree that there is such things as you are mentioning in some parts of the world. But it is as not as you guys picture.

We thank you for your concern about Islam women, but we are not oppressing nor torturing them. This is not Islamic at all.

Being a muslim is about doing it from your heart, so no one can force anyone to do anything Islamic if that person doesn't want to.

After all there is no compulsion in religion.

The men, meaning the rapists, are the only one who tried to overpower and control women. Muslim leaders, politicians, lawmakers, judges, police, Islamic scholars, clerics, male community leaders, etc, often tried to dictate what women should or shouldn't wear, and punishing when they don't mean their misogynistic and sexist standards.

This is also attempt at controlling women. And it is using religion to control them.

This is not love, in Islam; it is about power, control and fear. That is the image I see with Islam. The name "Islam" is appropriate one for a religion. Meaning "submission", it is about fear, intimidation, slavery. It is never about "love".

Is really about love for god? Or fear god?

It is about submission to Allah.

I repeat, in Islam, no one is to force anyone about doing anything.

The ancient Greeks used to think that nudity is something sacred.
I don't dare wonder what Muslims think about nudity.
for example...the perfection of woman's body: Venus by Tiziano
One of the masterpieces of Renaissance
