It was on fire when I laid down on it.
How long ago?As I said, it was quite a while ago. And it was quite normal.

I could. For most I would. Can you quote the proposed law--specifically the parts that "would have fixed a lot of that"?
At least 10 years. How long ago?
That may have been on the northern border.Well, I wonder why everyone doesn't go that route.
You could make that assumption. But if I am an "alien" there is another possible interpretation of "going down there".Which implies that "going down there" is coming across the northern border,
Cat fight.I could. For most I would.
Of that I am sure. And why I am not eager to visit again.A lot has changed since you last visited.
Sounds good to me.Of that I am sure. And why I am not eager to visit again.
There are not that many Canadians coming down looking for jobs. Though we do have to be on the lookout for maple syrup smugglers. It is a constant battle. When I say aliens, I am simply going by what the law calls people who are not US citizens. You know that. So it's been at least ten years since you last visited the US? It could have been even longer. A lot has changed since you last visited. Finally, there's a huge difference between the northern border and the southern border. You came across the northern border, at least ten years ago. Maybe even longer ago than ten years.
All maple syrup belongs to us. Have you seen our flag? There are not that many Canadians coming down looking for jobs. Though we do have to be on the lookout for maple syrup smugglers. It is a constant battle.
Yeah we know about your air force and your secret deal with car washing businesses. That will be the number one reason for the invasion! All maple syrup belongs to us. Have you seen our flag?
We invented maple trees. And geese.
Well, I wonder why everyone doesn't go that route.
I could. For most I would.
Except that you refuse to follow the rules of polite debate. You lose the right to demand evidence when you act in that manner.Well, people normally answer questions and provide evidence in an honest debate. That's how it works.
Claiming that you could provide evidence without actually doing so isn't being an honest interlocutor.
Oh my, I hope you are not suggesting that I have done anything dishonest.Same reason most people don't scoop up everything off the shelves at Walmart and walk out without paying. People get away with it most of the time, but most people are too honest to do that.
Except that you refuse to follow the rules of polite debate. You lose the right to demand evidence when you act in that manner.
I have every right to ask for evidence to back up whatever claim you make. When you refuse, then your part in the debate is empty and meaningless.I could. For most I would.
Sure you can ask for it. And I have every right to deny to give evidence to an irrational denier of reality.I have every right to ask for evidence to back up whatever claim you make. When you refuse, then your part in the debate is empty and meaningless.
Now you're not being a polite interlocutor, and have therefore lost the debate.Sure you can ask for it. And I have every right to deny to give evidence to an irrational denier of reality.
There are others that I would have no problem doing that for.
How was that not polite? Now you're not being a polite interlocutor, and have therefore lost the debate.
Play by the rules if you want to win, or at least be respected for your views.
