No, theists attack atheism because:

1. It blinds men to the truth and leads them to destruction. We care about you therefore we plead with you not to believe all of this atheistic jargon.

2. It is a cleverly devised lie.

Romans 1:20.

where's your proof, man? ;)

Those are all your opinions only. You take an awful lot out of context, add some and doctor it up to suit you. Also, you ignore all the Bible says about righteous judgement, good works and love.

Ooh! A new Grateful Dead reference: "There comes a redeemer and he slowly too fades away" - R. Hunter

"And the seeds that were silent all burst into bloom, and decay. Night comes so quiet, it's close on the heels of the day."

It seemed an appropriate lyric given the context of being an atheist on RF.

To understand the logic of theists, one has to look at their scriptures.

What does it say about the non-believers?

It's pretty ugly.

According to five scriptures I could find on the matter, the Holy Bible informs us that unbelievers corrupt, vile, wicked, abominable, godless vessels of darkness in the service of evil and in fellowship with darkness, not one of whom does any good, to be shunned, and all of whom are fit to be burned alive forever in a lake of fire as enemies of a good god and the moral equivalent of murderers and whoremongers:

[1] "The fool says in his heart,'There is no God.' They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good" - Psalm 14:1

[2] "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, and all and the enemy of a good god." - Revelation 21:8

[3]"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"- 2 Corinthians 6:14

[4] Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ." - 1 John 2:22

[5] "Whoever is not with me is against me" - Luke 11:23

Who could mind that?

Huh?

From observation atheists say they dont believe in god. If they dont believe in his existence, why would they debate of his existence?

Because people believing in his existence impacts the world.

Unless, as you say I think, atheists arent atheist just anti-religious. I wonder why atheist dont believe in hindu gods. Its always abrahamic.

I'm not 'anti-religious', I am an atheist, and I'm here.
You'll never see me start an anti-government thread, but I post against certain religious beliefs. Or anti-atheist beliefs.
Not sure how I fit with your hypothesis?

As for Abrahamaics...it's the devil you know, so to speak. I can't remember posting anything remotely 'anti-jewish', since Judaism has no impact on my life, and more loosely doesn't impact on other atheists worldwide in a meaningful way. Hinduism similar. I suspect if I lived an an overwhelmingly Hindu or Jewish country my posting habit might be different.

Pagans, deists, panentheists, pantheists...I have nothing to debate with them, near as I can tell.

Christians and Muslims are a different story, although to be clear it's only a subset.

The book is a lot more reliable than I am. What's wrong with what's written in that "Book"?

Its internal contradictions, failed prophecies, moral and intellectual errors attributed to a god that is logically impossible for having been ascribed mutually exclusive and therefore logically impossible pairs of qualities, unkept promises, bad advice, ambiguity and vagueness, and errors in science and history.

Presumably, you reject every one of those. I'd be happy to provide examples of each if you'd like.

Not talking of you specifically, just in general. God isn't impacting the world but the people who believe in god and abusing the belief systems to foster a me vs. them point of view where christianity, for one, is about service not "who is right."
Because people believing in his existence impacts the world.

If they are atheist, it would be more people are impacting the world based on his existence rather than his existence in and of itself unless they believe he exists.

If so, I'd ask the atheist to prove there is a "God" so I'd know how he influences the world without believers influence in the matter. (Same as asking a christian to prove god exist without the bible). Prove god exist without theist. If god is actually doing harm (or giving blessings), show me how the definition of the christian god (since I understand to an extent Hindu god) exists first before addressing the problems they have of him.

Not sure how I fit with your hypothesis?

Just in general. But I actually forgot my point when I replied to the OP.

That would be nice to debate with hardcore polytheists. Even if a Hindu wanted to debate the existence of Brahma, that would at least give me personally a different perspective on the definition of god. I get bombarded by god here all the time. Someone gave me a blessing ten minutes ago and offered to pray for me.

Can't get away from it. Well, I can RF but...

God said, I AM. God obviously exists according to the linked verse.

With God's word there is no debate. He is always right. Of course you can choose not to believe Him.

The *reports* are that a God said 'I AM'. The *claims* are the God is always right.

But at no point are those reports and claims supported by any evidence. I don't *choose* to not believe. I haven't been convinced and the default is to not believe.

Exactly, now you're thinking. You shouldn't. That's why I told you to do your own research and come up with the truth on your own.

Believe God. He is always right and knows everything. All others are only guessing.

And if we do our own research, investigate the Bible and other works which claim to be truthful, study those who have commented and consider the history; if we have done all that and find your claims to be ludicrous, then what?

Oh. So you don't believe the book of Romans because it was written by one man, filled with the Holy Spirit.

What about other books written by one man? Like some of your atheist scientists. Does that mean they are wrong, too?

There is a claim of a Holy Spirit, but no evidence of such. So we have a man talking without evidence and from his own opinions. Contrast that to those who speak because of the evidence and because of reason.

I'll take the scientist over an evangelist any day.
