Four hundred feet is quite a distance. We are lucky that the man was not a better shot. It was outside of the security area. This is a problem with outdoor rallies and high velocity firearms. It greatly increases this sort of hazard. Indoor rallies are far safer and I would suggest that in the future both sides should only hold indoor rallies, at least until the Secret Service can figure out how to protect a person for distances that are still within sniper range.
You and I both know that this will probably help Trump politically. That is just one more reason to condemn political violence. It is wrong, it is undemocratic, it is evil, and it is counter productive.

I take small solace in that the suspected shooter was not an American citizen. He was a crazy man from another country. No need to mention which country. I am pretty sure that they want to disown him too.

Whatever the case is, one thing seems clear - they're going to have to re-evaluate their security policies & procedures and be much more aggressive in securing the vicinity.

I haven't found it yet. Multiple social media posts claim it was an Italian man. Yes there can be false reports.

Hopefully no one, I seriously doubt this shooter has made any practical impact on advancing the cause of the left.

Not yet. And I just double checked. I may have reacted prematurely to a post of another. That is my mistake. I am still hoping that it was not an American citizen. That would be very disappointing.

Not surprised an attempt was made on his life. We already knew that he might be intentionally killed to remove him from the election and so far it's been proven the mentality of these people.
Good job in killing those responsible. They absolutely deserved it.
