Trump is a demagogue posing as a populist. He's so popular primarily because white middle class and working class people are very angry due to a variety of issues and feel ignored. The same thing is happening in Europe, too. It's a storm that has been brewing for years and I doubt there's a way to stop it.

I am definitely going to vote for Trump. Its about damn time we got a president who gets s*** done, does not take s***, and will stand up for the little guy.
PFTAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ahahahahahaha Oh god it hurts, it hurts.

Pull the other one, it has bells on it!

Obama is by far the worst president we ever hand. At this point i am so tired of incompetent leadership that i would gladly give even a dictator like Putin a try. Anything is better then Obama at this point. Give me real leadership, i don't care what form it takes.
...Worse than Woodrow Wilson? Really?

And the irony of it is, Trump represents a very significant portion of what they're angry about. He has bought politicians and corporate influence. He has cheap products "Made in China." He's a rich ******* who is so far removed from every-day America that he couldn't possibly know it's like to even begin to fix our problems. But he does know how to use his massive inheritance to make a ton of money because he was given a ton of money, keeping the money up top and corporate influence alive.

I agree on that. I don't favor the idea of having to buy a private product or face any sort of penalty. Really what we need is medicare/medicaid for all, cover everyone, and have everyone pay for it because everyone goes to the doctor, and should more than they do for things like preventative care.
I don't go to the doctor. because even if they found something I could not even afford the deductible.

It is sad. But I suppose it shows how desperate people are here.

Jesus, I bet I could make a career being a leftist impersonation of Trump.

EDIT: I say we allow all Muslims into the country, without so much as a slight investigation regardless their point of origin or political motivations. I've talk with my rednecks, they love the idea. People say I don't talk well to hillbilly crowd, but my people say I'm great. Now these pro-life activists? Who are these people. I don't know who they are. They haven't been vetted. I say no new pro-life activists in Texas until the federal government can figure out what's going on. I've made so little money. Seriously, I am so broke. I have nothing in cities all over the world.

But the point was that so many were going to the e.r. who didn't have insurance and were low income, so they were in essence free-loading the system. The solution was everyone pays but then that would be adjusted by income.

However, I completely agree with the last sentence.

He plans to:
1. Build a 2000 mile long wall on the US/Mexico border and make Mexico pay for it.
2. A mass deportation of 2 million immigrants.
3. End birth right citizenship.
4. Set up surveillance on mosques.
5. Is open to the idea of entering Muslims into a database.
6. Ban Muslims from entering the country.
7. Repeal ObamaCare and replace it with something "terrific".
8. Require other countries to pay the US if they need any kind of military help.

(Not only are there people out there that think he can really do all that, but that there are people who are in favor of all of it.)
I forgot...

9. His super secret plan to fight ISIS is to bomb them, then send Exxon to rebuild.

I support all of those. Sorry but my continued existence and prosperity is far more important then the feelings and opinions of others. Everything and everyone else is secondary at best and tertiary at worst. Survival is as they say the highest priority.

Trump is the most well-known person on the planet right now.

While I disagree with much of what he says,
he has by far the best perception of what the average American
is thinking, and what they want. I reckon he will win
because he is probably the only major candidate that
is not a total puppet. He has that authentic nature to him,
his gaffs are the type of gaffs ordinary people make.

In a weird kind of way he is probably the Winston Churchill of America.

If he were to promote legit marijuana, he would swing enough votes
to win by a landslide.

I know we aren't supposed to change a quote, but I think to make your statement more accurate it would have to read, "he has the best perception of what the below average American is thinking, and what they want".

"Most presidents of the US or UK prime ministers usually have about 10 years in office before they go crazy," Salmond, now the SNP's foreign affairs spokesman, told Russia Today on Sunday.

"Donald Trump has made it as a candidate."

This bit is amazing to me. I must see 2-3 memes a day on Facebook about how France, Egypt, Turkey, Iran or Saudi Arabia is bombing ISIS, why aren't we!?

Somehow a large group of people don't realize we've been bombing the crap out of them since long before the Paris attack... and then they have the sack to mock the president for not doing something he has been doing since the beginning.... *boggle

I think some of you know that I consider myself as a libertarian, very liberal on most social issues and conservative when it comes to economics, energy independence, and military might. Lately and especially after last night when Trump declared he will not run third party, the idea of a Donald Trump/Ted Cruz ticket is quite appealing to me. :smilecat:

The thing is, when we work together, everyone prospers more. When we are concerned about "we" instead of "me," you prosper more and the chances of your continued existence increase. It was that way when we were beginning to walk in Africa, when we roamed and hunted, when we started to farm, make metal tools, and it is still that way today.

The reason Cruz isn't going after Trump is because he wants his voters. It's a political strategy. If he attacks Trump his voters get butt hurt. Keep peace, for now, his voters will like him. (And its working like a charm with you)

Trump's running mate wouldn't be anyone on that stage either. It would be some Yes-Man no one has ever heard of before.

True but still... human nature being what it is one cant be too careful.
One can be too careful about the wrong things.
Global terrorism is not going away as long as billions of people live hopeless lives, dominated by poverty and violence and ignorance.

As long as sophisticated weapons are available to people whose lives aren't valued there will always be some who pick up those weapons and use them. That population of people is huge and growing.

Terrorism is not a disease. It is a symptom of a disease.

Nothing of what you are saying here has anything to do with my post #74. My "Trump/Cruz ticket" statement is just wishful thinking on my part. Your post is misleading and presumptuous.
