What came before the Big Bang?

'Your' viewpoint is facing the wrong way.

It's not about 'you'.

No, I should join you in concocting poppycock out of whole cloth to make the tail wag the dog. :D

Nay.....before the bang there was God.

Spirit first.

Before the Big Bang there was God.
Before the Big Bang there was no time, as time is a property of the Universe.
So before the beginning of time there was God.

But the concept of "before" is dependent on time existing. So saying that before the Big Bang (and therefore before the beginning of time) there was God, is just as meaningless a statement as saying that God resides on Earth, North of the North Pole, at 100° northern latitude.

Not only does the place not exist or is an empty void, the concept is meaningless.

Not that simple. Man is here, not knowing/remembering how he got here, nor why, nor his fate upon death. This causes Anxiety. Hence the need for thumbs and blankees.

No.... when you grow up you graduate to sex, drugs or religion, or...well ....your right, thumbs and blankees :D

That is one huge mass sucking sound! LOL!:D

'The fundamental difference between Buddhism and other religions is that Buddhism has no God or gods before whom people bow down in return for peace of mind. The spirit enmeshed in the Buddha’s teachings refuses to offer a god in exchange for freedom from anxiety. Instead, freedom from anxiety can only be found at the point where the Self settles naturally upon itself.'

It's obvious how we got here.

Fate upon death is also obvious.
You will end up alongside people that think and feel like you do.
How else to be fair?
How else to be happy?

ohh that's right.....you're not going anywhere but your grave.

Now if I have to explain the obvious..................................

What you call 'obvious' is merely a blind acceptance of dogma. Nothing you are claiming is obvious. Demonstrate.

How did we obviously get here, Thief?

What obvious fate upon death are you referring to?
