Help you be saved? Looks like Peter and Paul BOTH agree that their readers weren't necessarily saved merely by faith and that there was a process to it.....

What is a work? I believe if its something we add to what Christ did--he paid for ALL our sins on the cross, then it is actually detrimental to salvation. If one adds anything THEY do to what HE did, sorry, no gift, its debt owed, no salvation for you. If one has trusted alone in Christ alone for the free gift of salvation, then a work is a wonderful thing .

It's interesting that the Bible never makes use of the concept of "adding to what Christ did." That's a way of twisting the meaning of what IS written.

the part you choose(verb) is to receive(verb) the salvation jesus/god offers... those are works...you work out your own salvation...
