What is the scariest movie that you have ever seen?

Speaking of Tim Burton, He should do a real-life, Blair Witch type Nightmare' "Z-zero..I'm..s-so..s-scared..what is this 'Sandy Claws?'"
Helena Bonham Carter as Heather, Depp as Mike and the corpse of Vincent Price as Josh. Just put fright wigs on all of them, black and white and red wardrobe, some curlicues in the tree limbs.

Helena Bonham Carter: How's east?
Johnny Depp: East?
Helena Bonham Carter: Yeah, we've been going south all this time. How's east?
Johnny Depp: Wicked Witch of the West, Wicked Witch of the East. Which one was bad?
Helena Bonham Carter: Wicked Witch of the West was the bad one.
Johnny Depp: Then we should go east.

...cue sweeping yet quirky Danny Elfman music.

And just like that, we've got our opening scene! We really should get together and write a movie one day.

My ONLY stipulations are that is has the flying spheres of death (a la Phantasm), and the killer Monkey with a razor blade (a la Phenomena), deal?

I miss being a kid and really being able to be scared sh**less by a movie. A few that I recall that really stick out are Phantasm, The Exorcist, The Fog, Halloween, and Poltergeist.

I remember being terrified by The Fog when I was little. Ghost/zombie/pirates with glowing eyes scared me. And I have a vague memory of the tv trailers for Q when I was a kid. They terrified me.

Watch the movie "Fragile", it is pretty scary. A really good ghost story. I have watched quite a few supposedly scary films, but most of them throw so many cheesy special effects in them that they are just dumb. I like movies that have more of an actual story line to them. Hollywood ruins a lot of otherwise good movies with going overboard on the special effects and computer generated trash.

Hmmm... C1, I'm calling you out on The Blair Witch Project again! Only 'cause it's fun and you're wrong. :p

I kid, I kid.

For once Blayze actually has a decent opinion, it was rubbish.

Old movies, as in pre 1980s, are just not even remotely scary, if anything they are more of a comedy.

See, I'm going to have to go with Ju-On, rather than Ringu for scary. I enjoyed Ringu a lot, but Ju-On got under my skiiiiin! Seeing it in an old, decrepit theatre with just one other person in there, 6 aisles back probably didn't help much either.

And I'll agree with Session 9, both on the creepy factor and the last ten minutes factor. I adore that movie though.

I LOVED Backbone! The part where the kid is hiding in the closet and the camera pans to the keyhole.... etc etc, made me jump out of my fricken chair, even though I was expecting it.
Its about time you got here.

3 movies that scared me was ,Exorcist ,Jaws ,and The Car.
I contacted Barris Custom Motors about getting a replica of the car made and they wanted $120,000. That was without air conditioning.
