Well, this was very specific, cheers.
To be honest, I was interested in whence your family's Muslim background. Of course many Russian ethnic minorities are traditionally Muslim. Do you speak a language such as Avar or Crimean Tatar in your family?
My family is Orthodox Christians. And no I don't speak any of those languages. I read they were forbidden under the Ukrainian rule and now since Russia took over they teach them in Crimea schools.
As to why I reverted to a Muslim? I will tell you a story. 5 years ago I was curious as to why some people are bigger then other people. I figured maybe because they eat pork. So I started to eat pork. First day my muscles started to get sour tense feeling. 2nd Day it got worst. 3rd day I could not walk. I searched on Internet about this issue. First article that came up was a youtube video something about worms coming out from pork steak if you spill coke on it. 2nd article I read was about Islam forbidding eating pork. I was very surprised that there is a religion that forbids eating pork. I never knew it. And so I went to Wikipedia and read little about Islam (keep in mind I was active in looking for a new religion since I did not want to be a christian any more) and I found out what Allah meant, I never knew what it meant before. Next day I went to work, few hours later a hispanic/"Maya native" person asks me: "Do you believe in Allah" I was like what???? "He tolled me to go and ask you, do you believe in Allah? I said who? He pointed his finger up. I was shocked! This person never talked me about it before and I just found out what Allah meant the night before! I rushed home, I finished the wiki page, found out how to convert to Islam (Say there is no gods but Allah, take a shower, shave your head and come out as brand new man.) and reverted to Islam. There is however another thing I should tell. My younger sister reverted to Islam at the same time I did without our knowledge. She was 3,000 miles away and we don't really talk to each other.
