What is wrong with Islam?

Well, this was very specific, cheers.

To be honest, I was interested in whence your family's Muslim background. Of course many Russian ethnic minorities are traditionally Muslim. Do you speak a language such as Avar or Crimean Tatar in your family?

My family is Orthodox Christians. And no I don't speak any of those languages. I read they were forbidden under the Ukrainian rule and now since Russia took over they teach them in Crimea schools.

As to why I reverted to a Muslim? I will tell you a story. 5 years ago I was curious as to why some people are bigger then other people. I figured maybe because they eat pork. So I started to eat pork. First day my muscles started to get sour tense feeling. 2nd Day it got worst. 3rd day I could not walk. I searched on Internet about this issue. First article that came up was a youtube video something about worms coming out from pork steak if you spill coke on it. 2nd article I read was about Islam forbidding eating pork. I was very surprised that there is a religion that forbids eating pork. I never knew it. And so I went to Wikipedia and read little about Islam (keep in mind I was active in looking for a new religion since I did not want to be a christian any more) and I found out what Allah meant, I never knew what it meant before. Next day I went to work, few hours later a hispanic/"Maya native" person asks me: "Do you believe in Allah" I was like what???? "He tolled me to go and ask you, do you believe in Allah? I said who? He pointed his finger up. I was shocked! This person never talked me about it before and I just found out what Allah meant the night before! I rushed home, I finished the wiki page, found out how to convert to Islam (Say there is no gods but Allah, take a shower, shave your head and come out as brand new man.) and reverted to Islam. There is however another thing I should tell. My younger sister reverted to Islam at the same time I did without our knowledge. She was 3,000 miles away and we don't really talk to each other.

Thanks for sharing your story brother. God has his plans for us, but we are rarely wise to them :)

Okay, so if you don't believe in tattoos or flagellation, then you should just not do it. I mean, if we're desiring a consistent viewpoint or something.

For many people, it's rather hard to believe how someone can put the two "sides" here on a similar footing. Surely one is unequivocally worse?
Yeah, there's a difference between being a killer and being a juvenile jerk. :)

How many friends did you lose on September 11, 2001!
How many friends have been lost thanks to non-Muslims in a NON-MUSLIM country?

I've NEVER been attacked or harrassed by Muslims ... only Christians.

"What is wrong with people? We are talking about a religion in which one of the highest aspirations of its adherents is to be killed fighting in a war. What other religion advocates chopping off hands and heads, and stoning people in the streets? What other religion advocates global war, in order to convert people? In what other religion, during religious festivals, can you see droves of the "faithful" marching the streets with AK-47's, and declaring their desire to kill and die for "God". Excuse me people....what are we missing here? How do religion and AK-47's go together?"
LOL, like Islam invented the Martyr Complex. It was perfected by Christianity ...

Luke 19 is a parable about "a certain nobleman" and divine Judgments that occur at Christ second coming. It's not to be taken as a literal human event Christians are to uphold. Christ is using it to describe the end result of his final judgment.
An aggressive metaphor still values aggression...

I presume what you call incest was necessary for mankind to populate the earth like the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve.
Jacob and Isaac are SPECIFICALLY told to go out and marry relatives. Abe's wife is his sister whom he pimps out to the kings for tax breaks. Lot ... Lot is messed up. There's just really nothing redeeming in that entire story and it makes God look stupid and hypocritical for saving his stupid immoral behind.

so it was OK to marry cousins and aunts etc
The champion of incest is a dirt guy who has sex with a sister who is really just his feminized clone. It wasn't just "cousins". The people in the bible make Mississippi look like, I dunno, New York or something. :p

It was never necessary though.
Yeah...

Man: I need to have sex with my sister.

God: Uh, you know, I CAN make people out of dirt, so you don't have to, you know ...

Man: (in irritated Cartman voice) IWANNAMARRYMAHSISTER!

Of course it was necessary, otherwise every offspring Adam and Eve had would have never procreated and the human race would have died off.
Except the bible establishes God can create man out of dirt, thus making all this drama silly and irrelevant.

I mean, even John the Baptist says God can make Children of Abraham out of rocks.

And what will the outcome be If you mix hot weather with people coming to your nation for oil?
You pour cold water on everyone.

Of course, spraying people with cold water during a blizzard doesn't seem to be working out so well with oil companies at the moment.

I still say we need nukes that use pot warheads instead of radioactive matierals. That should chill everyone out for a few days.

You were attracted to a religion because some lunch didn't agree with you? Whatever floats your boat, man...

Yeah, really, eh? Jews were forbidding consumption of pork a thousand years before anyone heard of a Muslim. And it was news to them that a religion forbade eating pork, LOL. Makes it sound like Muslims invented the idea.

Ban on pigs goes long back when Jews ruled. I rad something about eating pork and tinny worms traveling in your blood streams.

It's gotta be bad pork though. You're very unlucky to get worms from pork, and it needs to be poorly cooked too. It is likely out of practical considerations (to do with inability to maintain good agricultural hygiene and to do with difficulty in keeping them in an arid environment) which brought on the ban on eating pork in early Abrahamism.

And another, I read that pork is the closest to human DNA. Some people say pork is the closest thing to human flesh.

Kelly said,

So What's the difference? Non Muslims are NOT a religion of 1.6 billion strong bent on world domination through terrorism and demographics.

That's because every element and compound found in man is found in dirt. It's kind of like making iron or copper. God created its natural resources, man discovered it.

You seem to have a strangely monolithic impression of Muslims. Do you have any Muslim friends in real life?
I don't want any Muslim friends in my life. I know better! You don't want me to post Islam's horrific history. There's not enough room on the forum to contain it all! So let me ask you,

"How many friends did you lose on September 11, 2001?"

I'm from New Hampshire, not too far from where James Foley is from...enough said!

Okay I ready you. However what about the history of others? Europe vs American Indians, for example. And what did Catholic religion did to Brasil? Other than bring money from the visitors who come to take a picture with a statue.

See, you'd learn a lot if you did have Muslim friends.

I do, and have grown up with Muslim friends. They're actually people, who are hugely varied. One friend of mine had to drop out of uni for a year and work in his dad's business because of depression, but is returning in March. Another is deliberating whether to stay near his family in London or move back to Wales. A third is currently finishing getting trained up as a carpenter, but seems more interested in playing music and hanging out than anything else. None of them seeks to blow anything up or enforce anything on others.

There's a very firm line between intellectual criticism of the doctrines found within mainstream forms of Islam and being bigoted against people because of their adherence to it. You have crossed that line.

Again. The difference is that Islam has been bent on terrorism since it began. The people who committed the atrocities you mention NO LONGER commit those abominations. They've snapped out of it. Islam has NEVER stopped killing people on an hourly basis and even encourage it's followers to commit the abominations of the earth. In the Sudan alone between 98-99 nearly a million Christians were murdered, and another million displaced, 5,000 villages were burned, and 15,000 churches were burned.

In September 11-17, 1922 to be precise, the city of Izmir hasn’t always been called that. Before it became a Turkish city, it had been Smyrna. During that period the city was occupied by the forces of Mustafa Kemal, a.k.a. Kemal Attaturk. The Christian areas of the city were looted and torched, and the Armenians and the Greeks were driven from their homes to flee the city or be slaughtered. Of the 400,000 Christians resident in the city beforehand, virtually none remained, and more than 190,000 were never accounted for. The Archbishop Chrysostomos was among the victims, murdered at the hands of a mob while under the “protection” of French marines. The city, except for the Turkish quarter, was reduced to a smoking ruin.

I learned everything I've wanted to learn about Islam since September 11. Muslim's are often in denial of their past. The UK also broke from the EU not only for economic reasons, but more important, they want to make their own immigration laws. Can't say I blame them. It's not bigotry to want nothing to do with adherents of a religion with a 1,400 year history of murder.

I have a video of a ten year old boy being beheaded by another Muslim. I also have a video of a Syrian soldier being beheaded by a ten ear old boy. Which would you like to see? Why would any sensible person want anything to do with people in the religion of Islam?

From this link - http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/attacks/in-the-name-of-allah.aspx

Aside from pursuing mass murder plots against innocent populations in every corner of the planet, Islamic terrorists have one other thing in common: They credit their motivation and success to religion.

Islam isn't hijacked by extremists - it is what inspires them. This distinguishes Islamic terrorism from mere criminal activity, and it is part of what makes Islam so very, very different from other religions.

Many people prefer to bury their heads in the sand or look for ways to re-cast Islamic terror to fit their own political agenda, but the fact is that violent Muslims are quite explicit about the religious certainty that compels their actions.

The teachings and early history of Islam that explain the violence are discussed elsewhere on this site. Here we just want to show that, as far as Islamic terrorists are concerned, their acts are done explicitly in the name of Allah and for the cause of Islam and Islamic rule... across the globe.

We don't really know what happened on Sept 2001. Do we? How can all those 6 or 9 buildings just go down like that? and without leaning right or left they just went down...

If you get such an un-grounded view of Islam, only seeing sensationalist sources, it's likely you'll get such a skewed view.

The UK hasn't broke from the EU. 52% of voters voted to leave. The remaining 48% of us voted to remain. If we were to retake it now, polls show we'd remain. Ah well. I dunno if we're gonna leave, see what happens in the H of C.

There's videos of Christians killing people. There's plenty of Christians killing people in the name of their faith. There are some quite substantial Christian terrorist groups operating in Central Africa and in Northeast India. It is not uncommon among such groups to invade a village, rape people as a method of intimidation, and then demand conversion to Christianity at the point of a gun. Why would anybody sensible want anything to do with Christians? That's stupid, huh?

As I say, I have plenty of Muslim friends, and not one of them supports anything even like the kind of violence you describe. It's total anathema.
