The British government is seeking a deal which advantages itself over EU member states - this would be detrimental to the likes of France so this is not a "back-stab". The truth is that the EU is not indispensable, and UK can stipulate bilateral agreements with any EU country, if the EU commission (the criminal technocratic entity) doesn't interfere.
