Who caused Satan or the devil rebel

Thief

Rogue Theologian
Why should I follow the Powers that be? Why suffer the lose of my Will, to forfeit my Self to a God who demands obedience and wanted us to remain mindless subjects?

Plenty of mindless objects spinning about.....
You should not become one of them.
Try to avoid becoming dust.

It's only an assumption that he rebelled out of pride or arrogance. Most Christians don't want to question exactly what would lead a being to rebel against Yahweh, as we have usually only been told only one side of the story. Lucifer is the first freethinker to forge their own path and think for themselves instead of submitting to enslaving, stagnated and stifling authoritarian order.
"It was pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men as angels." St. Augustine

Honestly? I mean really and truly to the most honest way I can be, given that setup, I would choose the fallen with free will rather than be mindless and comfortable.

...'and I would rather be the doorkeep in the house of my Lord....than to dwell in the tents of the wicked.'

and I see your assumption of 'mindless'...as dysfunctional.

why do you suppose the fallen don't like us?.....freewill unto Man?.....

"He got sick of Yahweh's tyranny."

Then he's the ultimate hypocrit because he thrives on his own tyranny, especially against those who oppose him. As for the original poster, I couldn't disagree more. Satan and his followers are indeed trying to enter into Heaven to overthrow God in order to install a universal prison of eternal injustice. They will fail, but that is their goal.

Nonsense. Whatever "Satan" you're talking about isn't the one in the Bible or even the one in Paradise Lost.

We know who caused Adam and Eve rebelled....the question about Who caused Satan to rebel is rather ignored or silent.
Yet there is much hype about the activity of Satan. It is true all power is in God, there is no power with out God.

The idea of Satan rebelling and being cast down, and now taking the position as an opposition against God is absurd. The question arises, can anyone or anything stand before the almighty.

It is my theory that the Satan and his angels are all part of Gods complete design, plan and purpose. Satan is playing his role in Gods plan and purpose.

The problem God has, is not with the role of Satan but the disobedient role of mankind.

We are not disobedient.

A & E were commanded to stay dumb. They chose instead to follow scriptures that urge us to emulate God.

That is what they did as God says they became as Gods in the knowing of good and evil.

You see Satan correctly as working for God as he put her there right beside Eve to insure that she ate.

If you have ever heard the Exulstet hymn, you will see how they sing of Adam's necessary sin as they call it a happy fault.

There is only one way to make sense of Eden and that is the Jewish way. They call Eden our elevati9n and not our fall.

Christianity screwed up.

It was in the nature of Satan/devil to rebel, he was made like that by G-d.

Well, whichever one it is, is behind the tyranny in the world today. But yes, he is referenced in the bible. You can call it nonsense or whatever you will. If you were alive in Jesus's time, you would have called his beliefs nonsense also.

Well, lets help you understand how to use the quote feature.

All you have to do is highlight text and a little quote tag will pop up automatically. click quote with your mouse.

Then when you go to where you type your reply click on the box "add quotes" and anything you highlighted can be added correctly.

I think that Satan has been slandered. Poor guy.

I try not to take cult leaders too seriously. I'm not sold on his historicity, anyway.

And yet you ARE sold on Satan's. How curious. Especially considering that he's the ultimate "cult" leader of them all. Do you really not see your hypocrisy?

We're living in truly fascinating times.
