Why is pleasure bad according to any religion you belong to?

And not 666, either.

Inorite??? I have no idea what that means

And i believe 666 is a misprint that hade been going on for centuries. The original number was 616.

[shrug] If you were to convince the people who try to assign their "evil" numbers to Judaism that it is 616, they would just shift to claiming that there are 616 Jewish commandments. Bigotry is not about accuracy.

The number of the beast and the number of Hebrew commandments are 2 completely different things. Why should people confuse the 2?

You are trying to get me to justify beliefs held under the rubric of religious and racial bigotry with an appeal to objective facts? Seriously?

It isn't.

But almost all religions advise their adherents not to become slaves to pleasure. This is hardly a revolutionary idea. We're all familiar with sayings such as "no pain no gain" and the idea that if you want to achieve anything you need to set aside having fun and do some work. Religions simply advocate this principle in the pursuit of becoming better human beings.

I've got an additional take:

IMO religion is often used to control people. The source of pleasure is mostly intrinsic. If you want to control people, you mostly rely on extrinsic motivators. So people who can find their own pleasures are much harder to control.

I only work with evidence and facts, your belief is up to you

Where goes that pleasure, happy, life and existence when you find your partner sleeping with someone else, some night/day ???:laughing::laughing:
You sound like a troll. Just a spat due to lack of even meager induldgence reply. No, that doesn't always happen. You'll find the pleasanter you are the more pleasant your company. I can't believe your company is very much on the actual better side.

It all depends on the people involved. Some would find it highly pleasurable and exciting to find their partner in bed with someone else.

I don't know why you think we were talking about my beliefs. You did recognize that I used third person plural, right?

"You are trying to get me to justify beliefs..."

Perhaps i read it wrong..

Does it consider pleasure to be unnecessary?
Oooooooh yes. That is some good wording. It's not, any pleasure you find absent decreases happiness in incremental amounts, not so much you can't afford to lose any but also not so minor that it's preferable without any pleasures but the birds song and that grumbling in your belly.

I think you are explaining Luciferian thinking. Is that what you are explaining, or are you talking about Justgeorge's religion? Both?
